About us
PA055967-James A. Munion had a start just like anyone else, at the very bottom. He swept up the work shop for a company called Dotson brothers when he was only 12 years old. Mr. Dotson said to James A.: “I actually can’t believe that you moved the glue buckets out of the way to sweep in the corners. The last kid we had never took the time to do that.” From that day forward, James had a permanent place at Dotson Brothers. He quickly moved on to shop hand, and was allowed to help create the laminate counter tops the company made. After only a short amount of time, Mr. Dotson had trusted Jim with crafting them on his own. Jim took to it with excellent initiative. However, after an extended amount of time creating counter tops, it was time to move on with his career… James’ grandmother owned a two car garage she rented out for tenants. The day he said he was going to start his own business, she, (politely as an italian-broken-english-speaking grandmother could,) kicked out the two tenants immediately and gave him his work shop. Since that very day, we have been running the business out of that very same two car garage. We have been family owned and operated since we turned the power on in the shop, in 1978. James Munion and his son have been, without question, some of the best people I have ever worked with. They have made a custom bar, built-in wine rack, re-finished my kitchen floors and repaired some trim around the outside of my garage. Not only is their craftsmanship top-notch, they are kind, respectful and professional gentlemen to boot. I am looking around my house to find more ways to involve them. I would STRONGLY suggest contacting them if you have any carpentry needs in the greater Pittsburgh area.

Jimmy and his sons are the best workmen I have ever seen. They are the real deal. They can install new cabinets,build them, reface cabinets, and do many other things. He has been in business for over 40 years and the company he gets his cabinets from has been in business for over 50 years. Everything about their work is pure quality. I could not believe the attention to detail. I had my Cabinets Refaced and they look better than new cabinets. (my old cabinets were a high-quality wood.) His prices are really fair. They showed up when they said they would, and they cleaned up after themselves. They had all their own tools, and they are really well equipped. They will even do little jobs – I asked.

The whole process was very well planned out. The knowledge and experience of this company was amazing. Not only did they explain everything they also answered any and all of my questions. The work was completed with in the time frame. The work is outstanding and well crafted. They cleaned up after themselves and made sure I was satisfied with their work.

Mr. Munion and Anthony did an amazing job upgrading our kitchen! We had our cabinets refaced, a new countertop installed, a new microwave moved and installed, and a garbage disposal, sink, and cooktop installed. Everything looks wonderful. They were so kind and helpful making suggestions and very knowledgeable. They were prompt, efficient, and even finished a day early. Would definitely recommend them for your kitchen upgrade!

We were very pleased with the results of our kitchen remodel project. Jim was an excellent guide for our planning process. He took his time and listened to what our plans were and helped us figure out the best options. He custom made our cabinets which were beautiful. As I am disabled, consideration was given to the project. Our floor was also replaced and it is now easier for me to get around using my walker. They were punctual and efficient and kept us informed of any changes in plan. I would definitely recommend them for your next project. God bless you and your family Jim.

Jim and his son are a pleasure to work with. They listened to what I was looking to do and offered suggestions on how to achieve my goal. They show up on the days they say they will and will call to let you know if they are running late. I was pleased with their attention to detail. Items I didn't think of were pointed out and had options to choose from. Reasonable price, excellent work ethics and an absolute pleasure to collaborate with. They did one half of my kitchen and I will have them back to do the other half. Jim is working a quote for another project I have at the house. I look forward to working with him and his son again. Jim and his son were prompt and meticulous. They installed butcher block countertops that I had purchased beforehand, along with glass tile backsplash in my kitchen. Additionally, they installed a new sink, garbage disposal, and gas cooktop, and all associated plumbing. Jim had great suggestions along the way, and overall it was a terrific experience.
