Our employees are Double certified in both Chimney Cleaning and in Relining. We offer all forms of relining.

"The two gentlemen arrived quite punctually and were very thorough. The furnace chimney did not require sweeping, nor did my fireplace, but they were able to take a look at the fireplace and advised me not to use it until it had been properly outfitted (it's an older fireplace, so this was not a surprise!) Instead of just completing the basic inspection and leaving, they also examined my dryer vent and took a look at my ductwork to see if it needed cleaning - and upon seeing I have some rather difficult to work with ducts, recommended another company because they felt they'd do the better job! Great to work with, punctual, honest folks, and fairly priced. What more can you ask from service people?"

"My initial contact with Leelands was 10 years ago. I really admired the work they had done on my neighbors house. I just couldn't afford slate repair or replacement at the time. The employees were always courteous and patient. Fast forward to May 2018, I had exhausted all the patching my roof could take. I contacted Leelands, Donna promptly scheduled Luke to come out for an estimate. Luke was on time and provided honest feedback. I recieved a Photo Report, Field Condition Report and Proposals a few weeks later. It took me a few more months to decide how to proceed. In October, Leelands sent Gabriel and Miguel to make the repairs. They were prompt, courteous and worked diligently to finish the job. After a rainy 2018, my roof is still leak free."

A crawl space is an area under the house that provides access to plumbing, electrical, heating ducts, and other HVAC units. Its purpose is to create a buffer between the ground and the living area, helping with ventilation, moisture control, and access for maintenance or repairs. Crawl spaces are most often seen in houses in North America which are built on concrete foundations versus other parts of the world where buildings are constructed differently.

Alternatives to gutter systems include rain chains and drip edges, which work to disperse rain coming off of your roof to a wider section of the ground to prevent erosion and pooling. A walkout basement is considered to be partially below grade because at least one wall is entirely exposed. In some cases and in specific municipalities, inspectors and appraisers will still count walkout basements as below grade, which means the space can’t serve as living space or be rented out. If you intend on using the area as living space or a separate apartment, you should check with your local building department to make sure it’s legal to do so.

While it’s possible to live in a damp basement, it’s usually not healthy to do so. Damp air affects your breathing, and it also promotes mold growth and pest infestation that can make living in a damp basement dangerous. You should plan to resolve any moisture issues and set up preventative measures before using your basement as a living space.

Mold and mildew are the things in basements that actually cause the musty odors, but moisture is the underlying issue that causes mold and mildew growth. Addressing moisture and water problems and then removing materials that are moldy are some of the best ways to get rid of the musty odors. Preventive measures after that—like installing air fresheners and a dehumidifier—can help keep musty odors from returning.
