Customers say: Quick response

"They came to check out the project before offering a quote. When they did give a quote they went into detail regarding how they would do the project with minimal damage to our lawn. When the work was done (very professionally) they did everything they said they would do to minimize any problems with our lawn. Absolutely followed through step by step what was quoted. Great experience working with this crew. Would highly recommend Timberwolf to anyone needing tree service."

"...a very old, very tall tree, with 4 connected trunks, about to crack and fall, possibly on my neighbor’s electrical wires, my house...and who knows what else! I called ROAR & SONS FAMILY TREE SERVICE, LLC, and they immediately arrived to help! Carl, Natalie, and sons/company gave me a reasonable price, were on time each day, and were very understanding, respectful, and professional in each part of the tree removal process. All brush and limbs were removed from my yard in a timely manner. I highly recommend CARL ROAR & SONS FAMILY TREE SERVICE for all tree needs! Linda R."

"this is a very professional company, came in and viewed to project to know exactly what needed done and what equipment it would take to get the job done safely. Very good workers, very friendly people. Took two large trees down to protect our home. Brought in equipment and a walkway not to leave marks on our property. Highly recommend this tree company."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Make sure the tree roots soak around a day before you dig the tree up for the transplant. Keep the roots wet while the tree is above ground. After the transplant is finished, provide consistent water every day for the first month or so. You don’t want to overwater the tree, but you do want to keep the roots wet so they can thrive in their new environment.

You can start your search for a reputable arborist online by looking for professionals who hold the proper licensing and are fully insured. Next, read through some online reviews to see what kind of service the expert brings to the table, and confirm that they don’t have a history of complaints with the Better Business Bureau. Finally, you can ask the professional for a list of references and then call them to ask questions about the service, professionalism, value, and more that the expert brings to the table.

For trimming trees, your best tool is a pair of pruning shears or loppers. Both options work best for branches that are under 3 inches in diameter. Trimming trees with a larger diameter may require a robust tool like a small chainsaw or a handsaw, so take into account your tree’s diameter when deciding between tools.

Not all evergreen conifers need to be pruned, but some do. Pruning pine trees is not necessary, but you can do so during June and July if you wish. On the other hand, spruce, firs, and junipers do need to be pruned from late winter to early spring.

You should not trim an oak tree in the summer. Oak trees are especially susceptible to disease, and open tree wounds are an invitation for beetles that carry tree-killing fungus. If there’s no risk that the oak tree will do damage to your property or hurt someone, it’s best to save the trimming for fall or winter. If you can, seal the wound with latex to prevent fungus from getting inside.
