Levelift Systems was founded in 1991 by Mr. Paul Mauer. Over the next twenty-three years, Mr. Mauer developed a highly respected specialty foundation contracting company, serving the State of Maryland. Unfortunately, Mr. Mauer died tragically in 2014. Levelift Foundations, LLC was formed as a means of keeping the core of Levelift Systems together and continuing to be a leading installer and foundation designer, for the CHANCE helical pier system, in the state of Maryland. Our certified helical pier installers are trained and certified by CHANCE® and we offer both residential and commercial foundation solutions in Maryland and the surrounding areas.

Estimates from several providers were all over the map, since some recommended extensive work involving the use of helical piers, and installation of a new concrete block foundation. Concrete Leveling questions, answered by experts

You can dry pour concrete over existing concrete, but it’s best to use wet pour concrete instead. Dry pour concrete is easier to apply, but in order for new concrete to adhere to old concrete, it needs the right mixture for slow, uniform curing. Additionally, dry pour concrete is less durable and less resistant to cracking and concrete sinking, so dry pouring over an existing slab may result in surface imperfections appearing prematurely.

Efflorescence can damage a concrete slab for two to three years. After that, it resolves on its own once the surrounding salts are gone.

To remove carpet padding glue from concrete, scrape away as much of the top layers as possible with a sharp-edged scraper or putty knife. You can be more aggressive on a concrete floor than on hardwood, so scrape off as much as possible. Then you can soak the area with hot water for a few minutes before continuing to scrape. If there is still glue left behind, use a solvent that is made to remove adhesives and apply it to the area. Then scrape the rest of the glue off.

Visible cracks, scaling, flaking, and uneven surfaces indicate a bad concrete job. Additional signs vary depending on the project. You may notice poor drainage or even exposed rebar. Quality issues result from using the wrong concrete, rushing the work, or inexperienced workers completing the job.

For a typical 200-square-foot concrete patio, you’re looking at an average price of between $1,600 and $2,400. Most concrete patios will be 4 inches thick, so thickness plays a minimal role in the price variance, but some types of concrete finishes can cost up to $25 per square foot, which has a major impact on your total.
