"The services performed were great. The crew was professional, courteous and paid attention to their work. The quality of their work is exceptional. Reasonable in pricing, provides certificate of insurance info, as well as references. Owner is very customer service oriented and knowledgeable. We did have an issue with the border of paver not being the correct color. This issue was an error with the supply vendor. Cambridge listened to our concerns, and came out immediately. They had the crew back out to our house within a few days to correct the border paver issue. Cambridge also removed some trees and shrubs. They were able to find trees and shrubs we were interested in. We were very impressed with how nice the front yard is looking. Cannot wait for spring time to view the crepe myrtle!"

"They were very responsive with an estimate, came over to troubleshoot the problem. Had to remove patio, dig up and replace a water pipe, then insulate and relay the patio. Also took care of problematic downspouts. They came quickly and completed everything in a timely manner and thoroughly. Their workman were all a delight to work with. I recommend them highly!"

"We had a concrete driveway removed and asphalt installed by Pennsy Paving. They came on time each day, cleaned everything up. And it was a mess taking old driveway out! Finished when they told us. We love our new driveway!"

"Henry's got the job done quickly and for a reasonable price. Some extra work needed to be done like removing a cement area and bushes to make room for a wider paved driveway, and they did an excellent job. The driveway looks great, and I would highly recommend Henry's Paving!"

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

It takes recycled asphalt 48 hours to initially harden and up to 3 months to fully cure. It’s best to stay off of recycled asphalt for at least 48 hours, then you can walk or drive standard vehicles on it. Hold off on driving heavy trucks or equipment on it for at least 7 days. Allowing the surface to melt together and harden ensures that the surface stays durable and long-lasting.

Recycled asphalt is a durable choice for a driveway, but doesn’t have the same appearance and low maintenance as standard asphalt. For long driveways in rural communities, recycled asphalt can make a great choice. Recycled asphalt is 20% to 30% percent less expensive than standard asphalt and is better for the environment.

If you notice minor cosmetic problems with your driveway, you should seal it. Look out for cracks and holes on the surface, faded asphalt or concrete, and stains from oil and other chemicals. Replacing your driveway may be necessary if you’re dealing with significant problems—¼-inch cracks, large potholes, and puddles from drainage issues. The cost to install an asphalt driveway typically ranges between $4,200 and $9,000, significantly more than resealing. Consider talking to a professional to discuss whether resurfacing your driveway—a midway project between resealing and replacing—is a better option for you.

A 500-square-foot driveway can cost anywhere from $5,000 to $35,000, depending on the type of pavers you choose. Grass and concrete pavers are more affordable, while stone and cobblestone pavers are on the higher end of that price range. You’ll save some money by DIYing the installation, though we highly recommend sticking with a professional for this type of driveway installation.

The material that’s best for your private road depends on your property, the climate in your area, and your personal preferences. Gravel is an affordable option, but some homeowners don’t like how it looks. It can be a pain to remove snow from, and it requires more ongoing maintenance than asphalt or concrete. However, while these other options require less maintenance and make snow removal a breeze, they’re more expensive and will need repairs from time to time. Ultimately, you’ll have to choose the road material that suits you and your property best.
