We live in Bradfordwoods and had a CARPET of leaves. Hepp came and did an excellent job on a very tough lawn. They also cleared the gravel driveway so well, I could not find ONE LEAF in it. Great experience.

They were prompt, efficient and clean. There was no dust or mess. Floors were in bad shape. Since walls were removed, part of the floor was never finished. When the job was complete, it was hard to find the difference in the floor. Very prompt at coming out to give initial quote.

The best plan of action for an unhealthy or unsafe tree will depend on its condition. An arborist can recommend whether trimming or removal is the right call for your tree. Preventive tree trimming can keep trees safe and healthy, so make regular tree trimming a part of your yard maintenance plan.

In most cases, leaving tree roots underground is not a problem if the stump has been removed or ground below the soil. However, some larger roots may decompose, leaving dents in your soil. Additionally, some aggressive trees, including willows, oaks, elms, maples, and poplars may grow back from roots. Large aggressive trees with established root systems are more likely to grow back.

For a large tree, roots can take 5 to 10 years to completely decay after a stump dies. But that’s rarely a concern for above-ground plants and growth. You can choose to grind up a stump immediately after felling a tree (although it will be tougher wood), or you can wait several months up to a year for the stump to decay. When finished, you can leave any leftover roots in the ground to decompose.

Rock salt or Epsom salt can damage and kill tree roots over several weeks and can even assist in removing the tree's stump. However, you need to drill holes or cut into the stump and surface tree roots to inject them properly with the salt. Repeat the process every two weeks until the roots visibly rot away.

Using Epsom salt to kill a tree stump will take between six and 12 months. While this method may seem extended, it significantly speeds up the natural stump decomposition process, which can take up to seven years. If you’d like to DIY remove a tree stump and it’s not causing any immediate harm or danger, using Epsom salt to kill it slowly is a viable removal option.
