"I am so pleased with the service I received from Nate! He was responsive to my calls and questions and got my gutout done on the timeline he promised. He even called the township to find the best place to put the dumpster to be courteous to the neighbors. He was very clean throughout the process and left my home prepped for our new renovations!"

"I got in touch with Phillip, and he came very quickly to estimate the job. He was able to do the job within a week, and it took less than 2 days. The job involved removing an old split-rail fence (12 posts), carting away the debris, and then replacing it with a fence of 8 posts. The work is excellent, and the workers very courteous. I would use this company again without hesitation."

"My mother was a hoarder. My siblings and I had spent nine months removing trash and family items from the house. I still had rooms filled with kitchen ware, linens, Christmas decorations and ornaments, books, note cards, stationery, postcards, albums, knickknacks, old clothing, toys, puzzles, etc. There was some furniture, but nothing of high quality. There were items in the basement that hadn't seen the light of day for 40 years. Marc and his crew sorted and priced what was left in the house, conducted an estate sale over a weekend, and disposed of whatever didn't sell. I paid for advertising(the $303.50). 35% of total sales went to him, and I was charged for clean-up and for disposal of items that could not be handled by weekly trash services(for instance an upright piano and an ancient freezer). The proceeds of the sale covered the latter costs. I feel Marc explained to me the whole process, was fair with his prices, and he managed to do in a week what would have taken me many more months to do. Plus, I would have had to pay someone to haul away the freezer and piano and other heavy items. There was one time when he forgot he had a meeting with me(that explains the lower grade on punctuality),but he was easy to reach by phone at all times. I can't comment on his accuracy in appraising items, because that was not my focus. I just wanted everything out of the house, and he accomplished that goal for me."

"Smooth service. Moving APT moved me from my 2 bedroom apartment to where I'm at now in Orlando. When they arrived to start the move I had a few things that I hadn't boxed up. They boxed it for me real quick. Nothing was damaged, lost or stolen. Highly recommend."

Garbage Removal questions, answered by experts

Replacing a garbage disposal costs anywhere from $150 to $950, but the average cost is somewhere around $550. There are two types of garbage disposal units, and continuous feed disposals tend to cost more than batch feed disposals. Going for an aluminum garbage disposal is also significantly cheaper than choosing a stainless steel garbage disposal. You'll also need to factor in the horsepower of the motor, labor, and the removal and disposal of your old unit.

If your garbage disposal powers up and you can hear it hum, but the arms inside aren’t moving, the problem might be a stubborn clog, a build-up of grease, or a jam of the impeller plate. To troubleshoot these, ensure your unit is off and disconnected from its power source before checking inside the drain or attempting to manually rotate the impeller arms or plate from the underside of the unit. A hex wrench can help.

You may be able to install a garbage disposal on your own, especially if you're handy or have some experience with plumbing. However, if you have any concerns or want to make absolutely sure that the connections are installed correctly, you may be better off hiring a local garbage disposal installer to do the job.

On average, a garbage disposal can last anywhere from 7 to 12 years, with many models functioning well for about 10 years. With heavy usage, a motor may last a minimum of five years, while grinding plates will wear down over time. It's generally a good idea to consider a replacement if your unit is approaching the 10-year mark. Other signs that it's time for a new disposal include frequent leaks, persistent clogs, lingering odors, lack of power, or unusual noises. If your unit is not that old, it's worth investigating if a less expensive part, like a rubber seal or a loose hose, is causing the issue.

Once you have your garbage disposal disconnected, you can remove the mounting bracket by unscrewing the bolts that are holding the bracket. You can back them out just enough to pop off the snap ring, which prevents the bottom portion of the bracket from disconnecting from the top when you unscrew the bolts. Use a regular screwdriver to pop off the snap ring, and the rest of the components should fall off by themselves.
