"The entire experience with Faodail was truly one of the best I have had when it comes to hiring someone to do work around the yard. Cole and his team came out the same day to provide a quote. He arrived before the scheduled time and provided a professional opinion and quote. I hired him based on a very fair price. He scheduled the day at my convenience. Cole and his team arrived early in the morning on the scheduled day. The weeded and edged all the beds before putting down the mulch. They put down a generous layer of mulch around every exposed part of dirt, even to the wall in an area that is quite large. The price was beyond fair and I know there is no way I could have done the work at the price he charged! Cole and his team left my yard looking better than when they arrived with spotless clean up and removal of all debris. If you’re not wedded to the idea of removing it, there are plenty of ways to get creative with this tree remnant. Using the stump as the medium for a wood carving or turning it into a planter are just two examples of ways to repurpose a tree stump.

There are a few general rules to follow that will help you prune your trees correctly. One of the most important rules is to prune during the correct season for the type of tree you have. If you’re looking to rot a tree stump fast, potassium nitrate will work far quicker than copper nails. First, drill several holes into the stump using a power drill, then pour potassium nitrate pellets into the holes. Next, add water to help the chemical absorb into the wood, thoroughly soaking the stump to ensure the pellets dissolve and spread evenly. Afterward, cover the stump with a tarp to retain moisture and block sunlight, then place mulch on top to secure it in place.

Trees that flower in the spring—like dogwood, cherry, magnolia, and pear—should not be pruned during the winter. These spring-flowering plants grow buds on old growth, so you’ll actually remove what would’ve been gorgeous flowering foliage. Instead, wait to prune until right after they bloom, when the flowers fade.
