"They did a real good job. They were real professional. Yes, you can put hot pots on concrete countertops, but only if they’ve been properly sealed. While the concrete itself is heat-resistant, the sealant may not be, meaning heat may discolor the sealant, so use caution.

Countertops typically hang over base cabinets by 1.5 inches. This slight overhang protects cabinet faces from spills and provides a finished look. The overhang may extend 12 inches or more for kitchen islands or breakfast bars to allow for seating and comfortable eating.

Resurfacing countertops is relatively easy—especially for a pro.
