With V Works Mobile Mix Concrete, the customer only pays for the concrete that is used. When the job is completed, the concrete mixer is turned off. There is no waste and no paying for unused concrete! With drum trucks, the customer pays for any unused or extra concrete, increasing costs. V Works Mobile Mix Concrete trucks can deliver small loads or be used as a batch plant at the job site to produce up to 60 yards of concrete, per truck, per hour. This saves the customer time and money. V Works is a residential/commercial contracting mobile mix concrete and excavating company with 20 employees. Our jobs require 50% down at the beginning of service and the remaining balance will be billed and mailed to the customer. We offer promotions of a 10% discount to our Vets and Senior Citizens with proof of ID such as military card and driver's license. Even though you could possibly be a Senior Citizen and Vet you are only able to use a 10% discount and not a combination of both.

Stone and Gravel questions, answered by experts

Chimney mortar typically lasts 20 to 30 years, depending on its quality, local weather conditions, and maintenance. Over time, exposure to moisture, freezing, and thawing cycles can cause mortar to deteriorate, leading to cracks and gaps. Regular inspections and timely repairs, such as repointing or tuckpointing, can extend the lifespan of chimney mortar by ensuring the structure's integrity.

Yes, you can cut patio stones with a circular saw. Similar to using an electric grinder, you will need to use a diamond blade as this is the most effective blade for cutting a material like stone. The stone must be wet when using a circular saw to ensure the cut is smooth.

Depending on the amount of soot present, you can vacuum some of it using a brush attachment on your vacuum cleaner. Then, remove the leftovers with a mild cleaner, such as dish soap or vinegar mixed with water. Before applying a cleaning solution, saturate the bricks with clean water to prevent the cleaner from penetrating beyond the surface and causing structural damage to the bricks.

Yes, you can enlarge windows in a brick house. Your masonry contractor will need to cut away exterior brick to make space for the larger window, and you may also need to consult a structural engineer to make sure the window is properly supported inside the frame of the house.

Cobblestone can be made from many different types of stones but the most common ones, by far, are granite, basalt, limestone, and sandstone.  If you are laying a brick paver patio or other such project, the medium is different. It’s rare, but cobblestone can also be made from marble, slate, jasper, and other types of rock. Technically, you can make cobblestone from almost any type of rock, but if it is weather-resistant and stands the test of time is another question entirely.
