"I contracted with Red Tree to do several projects on my property in Bandon, including demolition, cleanup, landscaping, driveway install, a large fence build, and some inside repairs and remodeling. All the work done was of a very high quality, the communication was excellent, and the pricing was very fair. I highly recommend Larry and this company."

"Thomas Excavation responded promptly to schedule a site visit. He had a plan for the work needed and a reasonable estimate within a few days. He arrived with equipment for the work as agreed. Regrading a steep road deeply eroded by spring rains, placing two culverts, re-routing water run-off in multiple places and plus repairing the deep ditch from water run-off across and down my driveway was done efficiently and professionally. This is the business I would hire again and again for consistent expert work. You will not be disappointed."

"The work was done in November 2022. This was our first venture into landscaping, and we needed someone that could listen to our ideas and offer suggestions. Alex was exactly what we needed! Alex sat down with us, took notes, and asked questions to determine what we wanted. He was extremely flexible in modifying the design to meet our needs. The walkways are beautiful, the deck and raised garden planters look amazing, and all the work was completed in a timely manner. We look forward to enjoying the yard for years to come. There is one project we wanted to wait on until spring, and we intend to hire 2A Landscape again."

"B&B did a great job on our 6-unit condo. It was pretty dirty (and green) from the winter. The gutters hadn't been done in a while and were loaded with nasty stuff. B&B was very responsive to my original inquiry, gave me a great quote and we agreed on a date. That day, our driveway was blocked by construction vehicles so they worked with the construction guys to figure out when they'd be able to get in and rescheduled accordingly. They were prompt and worked very hard and got it done in a day. The place looks great and we'll definitely be calling them again next year. THANKS!"

"J'S Lawn Services did more than I asked (in a good way)! They cleaned up my backyard as I asked but also took care of some things in the front yard I hadn't thought of. Overall, I am very satisfied with the work that was done and the price I paid. Very professional and friendly. Easy to work with!"

"Very honest, hard working folks who take pride in their work and are perfectionists and talented. You can't go wrong! Plus, they are fantastic people who helped us when we moved to Bandon, had four boxers, and no way to contain them. They put up two separate fenced yards in a very short time!"

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

There are some instances when you can use extra drywall in your garden. Ideally, unused scraps of new drywall are best for amending soil without the concern of additional chemicals or mold. However, drywall with paint, mold, or potential asbestos requires specialized disposal by a professional and should be kept out of your garden.

Yes, landscaping costs are generally a worthwhile investment that can increase your property value. Landscaping can boost your home's value by up to 30% by improving its curb appeal, which can help it sell faster and for a higher price. Specific projects have a high return on investment (ROI); for example, revamping a front walkway can offer a 100% ROI, while a pristine, well-manicured lawn can deliver an impressive 217% ROI. In addition to the financial returns, you also get to enjoy the improvements, especially with features like an outdoor living area.

Yes, it is possible to add too little mulch. Anything less than 1 inch will likely result in too little coverage around your plants, allowing weeds to grow through and minimizing the positive effects that a deeper bed of mulch would have, like maintaining proper soil moisture and insulating the ground.

Xeriscaped lawns are far more varied than many gardeners initially assume. The often-pictured rocky and cacti-filled landscapes are just one option. Many wildflower-, herb-, and mulch-covered landscapes follow the same principles without straying too far from the lush and colorful landscapes we have come to know. In fact, there are numerous xeriscape ideas for customizing an energy-efficient lawn to your liking.

Yes, you can landscape in the rain, but you should take some precautions to keep yourself and your tools safe. Avoid using electric landscaping tools during rainfall, and don’t mow, thatch, aerate, or rake in the rain, as your tools can more easily tear out roots in the loose soil. Be careful when working on wet grass, and take your time to avoid slipping. Avoid putting in new plants before a particularly bad storm, as heavy rain and strong winds can damage or uproot plants that aren’t yet established.
