"Purchased a 1906 home in North Portland with an uneven foundation that had been patched for 60 years, but needed serious stabilization work. I contacted multiple foundation contractors in the greater-Portland area and Ram Jack was the only team that provided a full worse-case estimate that included everything that I may need to permanently stabilize the home's foundation. Other contractors' estimates were higher, omitted some of the features of Ram Jack's estimate, and involved greater excavation work around the home. While I was collecting estimates, I had multiple contractors check the levels on the house and could see the home was continuing to sink as much as half and inch in some areas within only a few months, so I knew I had to do something soon as the hotter summers are causing significant erosion to the clay soil in north portland. After paying the 50% down payment, I was quickly in touch with multiple project managers and structural engineers who were able to answer my questions as the work plan developed. I work from home and have two cats, so I was a bit worried about the noise and needing to leave at certain times during the work. Ramjack devised a plan of installing 12 helical piers from the basement and 2 outside for a small crawl space area as well as replacing most of the piers in the basement that had water damage. During the excavation and pier installation, I didn't have to leave my house at all, my cats were fine, none of the utilities ever needed to be turned off and none of the neighbors said they heard more than the hum of the generator outside; insane professionalism. The work team kept me informed at every step of the excavation and pier installation and was able to recover an inch of lift with only a few drywall cracks that I patched in a day. I could have gone further, but wanted to avoid any potential damage to the sewer pipes and stay within my budget. During the lifting, I was standing with the lead construction manager who kept me informed of every risk as we lifted the house bit by bit. During the excavation my basement looked insane with mounds of dirt everywhere, but the construction team cleaned everything flawlessly; all I had to do was a quick mop and the basement was good as new again. Overall had a great experience with RamJack; the 20 years in business shows, most everyone I dealt with had been working with them for years; the construction manager had been doing pier installation for 15 years. The work was expensive, but cheaper than the other local contractors, and certainly way cheaper than replacing the entire basement foundation. Ramjack was even able to take a few grand off the intitial worse-case estimate for solutions not needed. Glad I was able to repair my 120 year old home; here's to another 100 years. "AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"Overall, they did a nice job of a tile-surround for our fireplace. The pattern required a nice level of competence and we are pleased with the results. The only down side to this company is the repeated failure to communicate with us when they said they would. "We'll get that to you today" became something we got four days later, and twice they failed to call us when they said they would. I recommend using them - but, you'll need to follow up constantly!"

"after several reschedules on both of our parts, the Saturday came that the weather was good and both parties schedule worked. The work was to begin at 1200noon, I got a call at 1100a stating the owner was in Beaverton on a leak job that turned out to be bigger than they thought and could someone else come look at the work to be done, I had some errands to run but would be back by 200p, reschedule arrival to 200p. By 430p, no call and no workers. I called to John who informed me his lead roofer was on his way and should be at my house in 30 mins or so,. The worker had locked his keys in the car but was picking them up and was on his way. By 6pm, I called again, got a message machine and was frustrated. Almost at the same time the worker showed up, then John called back while I was showing the worker around. He got on the roof, climbed back down, got a caulking gun, climbed back up, total of 40 mins later he was at the door telling me I had a few raised nails, he had caulked around them and caulked down the shingles. I asked a few more questions about the life of my roof and what did he think of the condition. He basically referred me back to John. John never even saw my roof. I have not had a good rain yet to see how the work was done, me guess is it will leak again. The roof was not cleaned off, the gutter nails were not checked-all of which were supposed to be covered by the Angie list coupon. I knew when it was Saturday evening after a long day of roofing elsewhere, my service would suffer and it did.

"Steve completed window and door renovations for me in April of 2019. He did an awesome job at an incredible price. I had to have new windows and doors in a 3400 sq foot house. He was fast and efficient. Miss having him in Georgia."

"The contracted the work off to a third party. Jon took longer than expected. The windows was installed pretty good from the looks. Communication could have been better with knowing the job will take longer and what types of trims I wanted for the windows. As the contractor that was hired for this job by this company. Did a good job with putting up decent trim. As for the new windows they look great. I purchased the myself and hired sentri homes to install them. I will need to have a my siding on my house redone to be closer to the new windows so the gaps are not so obvious. That was not expected at first. But from old storm windows and not knowing how they were put in originally. There was some unknown things that was learned from the job being completed. I will have the siding of the house slightly done to match really good for what I wanted later on. My only concern is better communication with sentri homes. Overall they were great when I did talk to them."
