"He was here on time and worked until the door was rehung correctly. The lock had stopped working as well and he had to align and realign so it would latch. It's an 18 year old door so he had to work on it for awhile but wanted to make sure it would work properly. I really appreciate the timeand care he took to make sure it was secure."

"Ryan and Josh were amazing through the whole process. Just moved here from Virginia and found them on Angi and they made the whole process run smoothly and efficiently. I would highly recommend them and plan on utilizing the business again soon to paint/stain my kitchen cabinets. Job well done!"

"Oscar and his crew did an excellent job. We would use them again in a heartbeat. They went the extra mile and even replaced damaged sections of the wood sheathing underneath the roof, which we never would have seen if they cut that corner and didn't do it."

Doors questions, answered by experts

While sliding glass doors are designed to be rainproof and weather resistant, they cannot be considered 100% watertight in conditions with heavy rain or winds. However, maintaining a door properly and ensuring that seals are tight can dramatically reduce risks of water intrusion.

You should prime interior doors before painting for the best results. If you do paint directly on the wood, you could see some of the grain patterns show through the paint, in which case you’d need to apply additional coats. Priming the surface before painting will reduce the number of coats and can better cover the grain pattern for a clean, finished look.

The best direction for a gate to swing depends on its location and purpose, but swinging inward is the general rule. An inward swing is often considered safer, prevents the gate from opening into public spaces like a sidewalk, and may be required by local building codes.

There are exceptions and specific considerations. If your property is on a slope, an inward swing might not be possible. For a deck gate, it's safest to have it swing away from any steps. In a backyard, the direction can be a matter of preference, though an inward swing can be helpful when carrying heavy items like a wheelbarrow into a garden.

Regardless of direction, ensure the gate can open fully without hitting any objects or blocking spaces. While an inward swing is standard, a gate that can swing both in and out offers the most flexibility if your setup allows for it.

The cost of folding patio doors is higher than the typical patio door cost because of their size, complex mechanisms, and additional hardware needed to operate them. These doors may stretch as far as 18 feet, require specialized installation from an expert, and have many more moving parts that could malfunction if not installed carefully.

You will need to cut or break a boomstick so it is wider than the door and long enough to anchor outside the door frame. Extend the broomstick horizontally under the doorknob, ensuring it's snug. Now using long screws and a drill, anchor the broomstick to the wall outside the door frame. Remember that you won't be able to open the door afterward. Do not proceed with this hack if your home has no alternative exit.
