They’ve told me they subbed out the roof to someone else when they did it and they’ve let the other company know. I've inquired a few times and they keep telling me they reached out to the other company to let them know. Basically passed us off and we’re up a creek with toxic black mold."

A standard drill will work just fine if you’re drilling small holes, and only a few of them. But anything with a diameter larger than 3/8 inch is best done with a hammer drill, since it is stronger, faster, and also makes your drill bits last longer. On average, EIFS costs more than traditional stucco, both due to its complex materials and tricky installation. You'll pay between $7 and $9 per square foot for traditional stucco installation and $8 to $14 per square foot for EIFS. Contact a local siding contractor to get an accurate estimate for EIFS or stucco installation based on your project specifications.

Masonry screws are the best option to be used on stucco. They’re thicker and made to penetrate harder surfaces like concrete and cinder blocks. Fluted masonry screws work the best because they create a stronger grasp thanks to the lines on their shafts. If you’re working on exterior stucco, use galvanized screws to prevent corrosion.

You can apply stucco to wood by wrapping it with grade D waterproof paper, installing trim accessories such as metal lath, control joints, weep screeds, casing beads, and expansion joints, and applying the stucco in three layers. You’ll need a scratch coat, brown coat, and finish coat, all applied with a trowel and screeded with a darby or straight edge. Each should cure for two days before you apply the next one.

Even though having stucco replaced is a big undertaking, it’s cheaper to remove and replace than other materials such as wood or vinyl.
