"I have had two issues since they installed the new sump pump and irrigation. Issue number one was water still getting passed the new concrete. The other issue is that the new concrete was not level at all which has caused issues with the new flooring I installed. However, their customer service is top notch and will work hard to take care of you."

"The vendor scheduled the appointment, the crew showed up on time to review my roof maintenance requirements. Upon arrival they noticed my roof was a tile roof so they called John Jones who spoke to me and said they do not work on these types of roofs, apologized and offered to try and find someone else to honor the request. Pros often use mudjacking or polyurethane foam injection to level a sunken concrete patio. Both methods lift the slab by filling voids beneath it. After properly compacting the soil beneath it to prevent future settling, the concrete may need to be removed and re-poured for severe sinking.

The polyurethane used for polyjacking will expand and cure in 15 to 30 minutes. After that point, your slab will be safe to walk on and even drive on in the case of a sidewalk or concrete driveway. Double-check with your concrete lifting specialist to confirm a curing timeline, as products can differ.

It’s best not to perform mudjacking in the winter unless the ground temperature remains above freezing. Freezing temperatures can cause the slurry to harden too quickly, compromising its strength and longevity. Concrete is also more susceptible to cracking and splitting in cold temperatures, so there’s a higher risk of damaging the slab during the drilling and lifting process in winter.

A good slump height really depends on the project, but there is a use for nearly all slump levels. For example, low slumps are best in projects that require structure, such as curbs and roads. High slumps often require additional reinforcement, but they flow more freely into hard-to-reach spaces.

Polyjacking can be a permanent solution to sunken concrete if you also address the underlying issue—like poor drainage—at the same time. The polyurethane material itself can last as long as or even outlast the concrete you’re lifting it with. Your sunken concrete issue will likely return if you don’t couple polyjacking with proper drainage to prevent future soil movement and sinking.
