"Very professional and great groups of fellas doing hard work and leaving an amazing product. I hired them to climb and trim some trees, they were fast, safe, and willing to help out in any way they could. 10 out of 10 I would recommend them to anyone!"

"Jacinto Tree Service was called in to provide a bid for tree removal after the recent ice storm. They outbid four other companies and completed the job on time with excellent results. I was so impressed with their work that I referred them to three other families—each of whom shared positive feedback about their experience. I’ve also hired them again for a project in Springfield, where they removed four trees from a property efficiently and professionally. I highly recommend Jacinto Tree Service for any of your tree service needs!"

"I couldn't be more pleased with Jorge's Tree Service! They worked very efficiently and left a tidy work space. Communication with both Natilie at the office and Jorge at the sight was good. She supplied me with a COI (Certificate of Insurance) and a simple contract that I requested. Jorge was very brave to go high up in the maple tree and did a good job of making the tree look balanced. They were very careful not to drop a branch on anything but the yard. The crew worked hard on removing the branches dropped and Jorge is very skilled with the saw. Also he drove a good distance at the end of his work day when he had already gotten home to get me an estimate. Recommended!"

"Adam and his crew were awesome. I lost a 42 yr old ash tree in the ice storms. I had it all cut down and needed someone to haul it. Adam was the best price around, got it done fast, and saved me a ton of time and money. I'd hire again in a heartbeat."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

If it’s your property, then you can plant a tree near power lines, but it’s not the best idea. Any vegetation that grows within 10 feet or so of power lines will fall under the responsibility of the utility company, and they may trim or remove it as necessary. If you do move forward with your plan, try to choose a smaller ornamental tree, plant it as far away from the power lines as you can, and keep it trimmed to avoid future problems.

Cutting down a dead tree is always strongly advisable. Aside from being an eyesore, a dead tree can be extremely hazardous, especially when it’s near people or structures. Even if the tree isn’t near your home, it can still harbor pests and diseases that can potentially spread to nearby plants and homes.

Yes, burning wood with Dutch elm disease is a safer way to dispose of it than, say, tossing it in with the rest of your yard waste, which could potentially allow it to spread to healthy trees. But it’s always a good idea to check with your local government to make sure you’re complying with any ordinances about removing diseased trees as well as burning brush piles.

It depends on the type of tree. Typically, late spring on the cusp of winter is ideal for trees about to emerge from dormancy and produce new buds. That said, late fall is ideal for certain deciduous trees prone to bleeding sap. Avoid trimming trees in early spring, when they’re prone to disease.

Completely topping a plum tree is a risky business. Cut too much, and you’ll kill your tree. That said, you do need to trim the top of your tree to encourage bushy growth, maintain your tree’s vase shape, and limit size.

A plum tree's central leader (or trunk) should never extend more than 3 feet above the highest branch. When you first plant your tree, cut the central leader so it’s 2 to 3 feet tall. As it grows, cut it back 12 to 20 inches until it reaches its desired height. Never prune more than one-third of the new growth.
