"Overall, I'm very pleased with the results. I didn't think the results would be as good at they actually are. Prior to the project, the stamped patio area was an un-pleasing light tan color and had clearly not had any care for many years. I had them stain it a darker brown and apply a glossy hardener/sealer to the surface. The results are amazing. It looks modern, like new and really makes a difference in the overall look of the yard. Before they applied the color/seal, they had a professional pressure washing company come in and prepare the surface. Everything was done on time, and the interactions I had with the office crew and/or work crew at Natco were very professional. They were honest and seemed to want to get it right, instead of just getting it done. They gave me some "this is what I would do if I were you" type of advice which is really helpful and sincere. I had several bids for the work, which varied widely in price and approach. But overall, Natco seemed to be the most honest and not trying to over-sell.

Small jobs welcome

"We had a company extend our existing patio and add a sitting wall with pliers, the finished product was just terrible. We had to hire a new company to take out the floor of the new patio and redo the stamped concrete. Then we went to home advisors and found Western Roots Masonary to fix the sitting wall and pliers which were not level the walls had pits and were very uneven they were just a mess. Rick helped us decide on how to cover the existing walls and pliers. We did stone. The end result was way beyond our wildest dreams . We can’t say enough about the results, believe us when we say we think he is just the best. We will be recommending Rick to all our friends and neighbors and any one else. We just can’t say enough about the work Rick did for us , please people check out his web site he will be posting before and after pictures of our project, you will be totally amazed at the end result we are. Thank you again Rick for making our home just that much better."

"Flintstone Hardscapes LLC removed an old rotten deck and framed and built a beautiful concrete patio in my back yard. The space was small and they had to remove part of a fence to get access. They were wonderful and even replaced the fence overnight so my dog could not run off. I highly suggest you give them a call at 503.837.9294 to get a quote for your next project."

Customers say: True professional

"Jose has successfully helped me on several projects over the last few years on my home and rental properties. He is very interested in making certain he understands the scope of the project and outcome I am seeking. I would highly recommend Jose and his company for property maintenance and landscape development. He and his crew are very pleasant to work with. michael Devereux"

Patios questions, answered by experts

There are many materials to choose from, including picket fencing, wood slats, galvanized metal skirting, dog-ear fence panels, scallop wood fence panels, bamboo screens, and other decorative screens. You can search for materials at local big box stores like Home Depot or scour online home improvement sites. Good search terms to use are fencing, skirting, and privacy panels.

Yes, porches require foundations. The type of foundation required, however, is determined by the type and use of the porch. For example, a screened-in porch won’t require a new cement foundation. However, if you turn your porch into a sunroom or plan on making it a living space, then chances are you need a foundation that’s more permanent than piers and posts.

Yes, enclosing a patio to create a sunroom or three-season room is often a good idea that adds value to your home. This project increases your home's usable square footage and creates a versatile space for relaxing or entertaining that is filled with natural light and can be used in various weather conditions. Homeowners may see an average return on investment (ROI) of around 70%. The final value added will depend on factors such as the quality of the materials, the level of finish, and the amount of yard space that remains after the enclosure.

A sunroom may count toward your home's total square footage or living space if it meets certain conditions, which can vary by local regulations. Generally, for a sunroom to be included, it must be fully enclosed, properly insulated, and equipped with electrical access and a heating and cooling (HVAC) system, similar to a four-season room. It should also meet the same construction standards as the rest of the house. Three-season sunrooms that function more like enclosed porches typically do not count toward the total square footage and are considered exterior living space.

Yes, but ensuring the deck has a solid foundation with adequate footings is critical before building, as the weight of a sunroom will put significant pressure on the structure below. Even if your deck is properly constructed, it may not be able to handle the extra weight. While some basic, lightweight, prefabricated sunrooms can sit on a deck with a strong existing foundation without additional supports, in many cases, the foundation and joists will need reinforcement. It is always best to have a structural engineer perform an inspection to evaluate the deck's quality and structural integrity. A professional can help you decide if reinforcement is sufficient or if it's better to tear down the deck and start over.
