"Wes came out and gave me a fair appraisal for my fencing. He worked with my work schedule to schedule the service. His employees came out, were very polite and worked hard to complete the service in one day. My new fence is beautiful! I will definitely using Wes and his team for any of my future fencing needs!"

"Called for a bid on Saturday afternoon, and within one hour, Jim came to do the bid. The bid was competitive. Monday was selected for the job. The fencing with two gates was completed that day. I got home from work, and greeted the two workers. Alex finished the job by inviting me to tour the fenced area, asking any questions I might have"

"Very Good. They work with us because our yard is so big and it gets very expensive, and so sometimes in the winter or other times we would want to skip a treatment and they are very accommodating with that. They're always very willing to work with us on which part of the yard we want work done to. They've always followed directions well. Occasionally there would be somebody that comes out as a substitute for somebody else that's not the regular person that comes out. We are going to continue to use them."

"I contacted them via email and heard back almost immediately. We set up a time for them to come over and look at the work needed to be done and heard back from them with an estimate and when they could start. Walt and Tammy came in and fixed our door and re-caulked our kitchen sink, hall bath - toilet and bathtub. The vinyl floor in the bathroom had shrunk and there was an excess of room between the tub and floor so they installed a quarter round at the tub and then caulked around it. I was pleasantly surprised by how good it looked. We set up a time for them to return to do the deck railing. They returned a few days later to work on the deck. They moved a gate and installed the railing efficiently. The caulking around the sink the previous visit had not worked so Walt had to do it again. A couple weeks later they came back to finish the deck (replace some deck boards) and assemble the playground. Walt had informed me earlier that the our type of deck boards were no longer available at the stores and was willing to cut them to size etc at his shop. They came prepared with all the materials and finished the job in a timely manner. We were very happy with the work done although we found them to be a bit pricey even with the 10% discount for Angie's list members. We are planning to rehire them to do some more caulking around the house and re caulk the toilet they had caulked earlier."

"For both houses, Ken has someone came to power wash the house.  The power wash guy did an OK job and miss some areas that I need to clean it myself.
Rental: Ken's crew came early in the morning and got to work quickly.  They caulked and painted the house in one day.  They also  scrape loose/peel paint then prime those bare wood.  They applied two coating of paint and the paint look nice and thick.  Overall a nice paint job and they cleanup well.
Primary: same comment as the rental + I got some tree branches that is touching the house siding/gutters.  I cut/trim what I can, but a few branches was way up high, Ken's crew was kind enough to cut those for me.  My two kids (7 & 10 yrs old) were so excited and were outside most of the time watching them work.  They ask Ken's crew (Scott) many questions and Scott was nice enough to explain things to them.  Nice and kind people to work with.

"What we wanted designed was our yard without a fence so we could get an idea of the street view of our property with out a fence, also what could be done to  the area in front of our fence. When we got the design it was for a fenced in front yard like we currently have No views from the street and no landscaping of the area along the steet front.

Fencing questions, answered by experts

The average lifespan of a wood fence is 15 to 20 years, but some can last for 40 years or more depending on several factors. The type of wood is crucial; for example, untreated pine may only last 5 to 10 years, while pressure-treated pine can last up to 20 years, and cedar's natural resistance can extend its life to 40 years. Other factors include local weather conditions, with wet and windy climates causing faster deterioration, and the quality of maintenance. Higher-end wood, metal posts, and privacy fence styles also tend to last longer.

As with any project or material, installing wrought iron fencing has advantages and disadvantages. Some pros and cons of this fence material include:

Pros

  • Long lifespan with proper maintenance

  • Very durable

  • Aesthetically pleasing

  • Functional as well as decorative

Cons

  • Requires regular maintenance and cleaning

  • Expensive compared to other fence materials

  • Limited privacy

If the fence is on one neighbor’s property, that person is responsible for repairs, regardless of who benefits from the fence more. The other neighbor must keep trees and other obstacles from crossing the property line and affecting the fence. If the fence is directly on the property line, though, who owns a shared fence? Many states have laws that address this issue. Typically, the two property owners would share responsibilities and costs for fence maintenance and repair. You may need a property line survey to precisely determine ownership and responsibility.

To maintain a chain link fence and extend its lifespan, perform routine checks and cleaning. This includes inspecting for rust, tightening any loose bolts or hardware, and removing debris buildup. These steps help preserve the fence's appearance and function.

You can sometimes install a fence over a gas line. Fence installation typically requires a two-foot depth for posts, so if the lines are shallower than two feet, you cannot put a fence post over the line. You’ll need to call 811 to get the gas lines located and marked before you start the project.
