Owner operated. Occasionally uses subs for plumbing and electrical. Cost is determined by the bid. No travel charges. I am exclusively a tile installer. I install showers, floors, backsplash and fireplaces. I also install heat systems and do shower pan repair. I have over 20 years of experience in residential tile installation.

"It went very well after I had the right tile. That was no fault of Mr Morris, I ordered the tile. He was prompt, tidy and I’m very happy with his work. I will definitely hire him again when I’m ready to do my bathroom"

We are a father son operation, and have been in the tile business for over 10 years. We pride ourselves in doing high quality installs for a fair price. Specializing in building exceptional showers, heated floors, and kitchen backsplashes. But anything tile, we are your guys. We are knowledgeable and friendly, taking customer satisfaction very seriously. Feel free to call us with any questions on current or up coming projects that you may have. You can see us and our work on our website, and Facebook! TheTileGuysOregon.com The Tile Guys Oregon LLC Rick and Michael. 503-349-9105 Licensed, bonded and Insured.

"We had a badly installed shower floor replaced by the tile guys in October 2018. It was beautiful and appeared well done when complete. They were fast and appeared diligent and skillful during the repair work. 5 years later, we saw the pebble tile floor starting to fail. It began sinking in multiple locations and chipping grout, allowing water to weep between and under the pebble tile causing its substrate to dissolve, causing the tile above it to sink in the dissolved cavity. After hiring another team to demo the shower floor for the second time, we're seeing that substandard practices and materials were contributing to the tile floor failure. Our current repair team still doesn't understand why there was foam installed under the pebble tile waterproofing "fabric layer". Also, the mortar used to attempt to fuse the tile to the fabric never did adhere and the new team was able to easily and cleanly pull the pebble tile and mortar off of the fabric with their fingers."

Small, local company uses subs only for plumbing, electrical & roofing. Cost determined by job. Senior/military discounts. Upgrade coupons. LICENSE #194047 [Lead Based Paint Certified].

"I might have been some what hasty on my first review. Just upset because of the break down in communication. After reviewing the final documents I would like to retract some of what I said. I do think we paid to much but there construction firm is one of integrity. The job was done mostly to our satisfaction. Just make sure you get all the cost up front. They are decent people and I never meant to imply otherwise."

PDX Custom Woodwork is a family owned business. We have been building custom cabinets for 17 years here in Oregon. We are all about the quality of our work and making our customers happy. We design your future kitchen cabinets and make it a reality. We are very competitive. PDX Custom Woodwork has been building cabinets for Residential and Commercial. Stop by and check out our showroom! Feel free to give us a call and we can come out for a free estimate. Thank you!

"PDX Custom Woodwork ruined our house and wasted our time and money. We spent $62k for them to spend 6 months demoing and painting. We didn't hear from Lina for at least 3 months of this, only the occasional text from Manuel. Even at their best, they rarely communicated with us and it was like pulling teeth to find out what amounts of materials WE had to order, including our own carpet/padding and tile cement, which is not standard. They also never visited the site or had a project manager overseeing the work being done. We had to beg them to come to the property and that still only produced a monthly visit, at best. Their workers came mainly on weekends so it's clear they were prioritizing many newer projects over ours. Ultimately, they barely completed $20k in work- of which, none of those projects were totally finished- and have done about THREE TIMES that amount in DAMAGES to our property, bringing the total to around $100-120k. They gave us half our kitchen cabinet doors three months ago then kept telling us the rest were on the way. Though all of the built-ins we hired them to redo were demolished, they never fabricated the new ones. We paid for all our flooring materials ourselves, which is not an industry standard, and they had the audacity to ruin them FOUR times. We shouldn't have given them the benefit of the doubt when they said they'd fix it. The patterned carpet was cut at an angle on every single piece and they ripped up carpet in places they shouldnt have, leaving us to buy and replace even more of it. Their "painters" got paint on multiple stained wood doors (including the front door and sidelights) that we were keeping, as well as every kitchen appliance including inside our garbage disposal, and in ALL of our brand new outlets and on the light switches. They also ripped a knob off of our oven range, dented all the doors on our new fridge, covered our kitchen chandelier and living room ceiling fan with paint and damaged our brand new fireplace that they were supposed to wrap in stone for us. They washed their brushes in our bathroom sink and left paint in rooms not being renovated. They made changes to another contractor’s city-permitted work between inspections, and without telling us even when we were on site. We had to correct them on measurements multiple times because they couldn't do it accurately themselves. This was maybe 1/4th of the work we wanted to bid from them. We wanted to be repeat customers, do bigger renovations, and go the long haul, but Lina and Manuel made it impossible. Our home has been unusable for half a year with nothing to show for it. Most of the work, including the over-sprayed paint job, will need to be redone, because it's spotty, has rough texture and the ceiling got the wall/cabinet paint on it in multiple areas. They didn't even seal our tile or countertops, which were the only things we thought they had completed, but didn't. Instead, we have to now file a complaint and hire new contractors, that know what they are doing this time, to finish the job."

When it comes to flooring installers, licensing laws vary from state to state. Even if your state doesn’t require your flooring installer to have a license, your municipality or city might, so it’s a good idea to check with your town before getting started. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local general contractor guidelines.

Hiring an unlicensed flooring installer could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

There are several countertop options available to fit your lifestyle and needs.

  • Granite countertops are durable and come in a variety of colors.

  • Soapstone countertops are prone to scratches and best in smaller kitchens.

  • Marble countertops are less durable than granite but a good option for busy kitchens.

  • Slate countertops are stain-resistant, making them easy to clean.

  • Limestone countertops must be sealed often to prevent scratches.

  • Acrylic countertops cost less than granite while still providing durability.

  • Laminate countertops are the most affordable but chip and fade faster.

  • Wood countertops need monthly sealing to maintain.

The cost to install countertops is $3,105 on average. This project cost can range from $400 to $8,500, depending on the material, edging, and countertop size.

Laminate countertops are generally the most cost-efficient, ranging from $8 to $27 per square foot. On the other hand, slate countertops are considered more luxurious and range from $30 to $90 per square foot. There are also countertop materials priced between those two, including stainless steel, granite, Corian, and wood.
