  • All Fenced In
excellent… after having an unfortunate and disappointing experience with a fence company I got from home advisors I took a second leap of faith and reached out to Carmen. Couldn’t be more happy, fixed the job that I had already paid for, I hired him again to do work at another property location and now have reached out to him a year later for yet another project. Five star in my opinion

  • Gold Star Fence Co.
The work was fantastic; I wouldn't call anyone but Gold Star. My husband and I unexpectedly took in a rescue puppy, and spent an entire day calling around and scheduling fencing estimates in order to get a fence in ASAP. We cancelled all other appointments after Frank visited our property - there really wasn't a point in meeting with anyone else. Frank's customer service was above and beyond from the jump. Our yard is hilly and has lots of trees, and my husband and I were constrained by both a limited budget and a tight timeline. Frank was the only person who offered multiple solutions for our many issues, and he came up with a creative combination of vinyl and black chain-link set up at specific points on the property so that we have privacy from the street and great curb appeal, but we didn't blow the budget. He even gave us multiple estimates so we could choose the fencing we'd be happiest with, and was really willing to negotiate pricing/design with us when the best option was out-of-budget. Our fence was completed in less than 4 weeks after the initial estimate - which is bananas-fast considering the work had to be halted multiple times due to inclement weather and was slowed due to the unexpected 3-feet of shale rock under our lawn that they had to jackhammer through and dig out before setting our posts. Brian and his team were incredibly professional; they kept my husband and I updated about project progress, explained what they were doing when they did it, and were very kind when the puppy bothered them for pets on our lunchtime walk. They always left the work site neat, and would literally work until dark - I think everyone knew how eager we were to get this thing done and let the puppy run around. We also noticed the small, thoughtful things the team did - like attach a few rebar stakes in places where our puppy could try to dig out, or place rocks that they'd excavated on the outside of the chain-link to make our yard more even more dig-proof. Brian told us at the end of the job this was the toughest yard he'd worked in 5 years - but we would never have known it. The guys worked seamlessly, and our fence looks beautiful, polished, and most importantly - secure for our puppy. Three happy customers for life here :

  • Ultra Safe Pest Management Inc
I just called Ultra Pest Control to exterminate my home for stink bugs that appeared last season. They informed me that I would have to pay $145 for inspection that could CANNOT be refunded. It can only be used towards their service. However they will not give me any approximate cost even though they asked several questions such as square feet of my home, how many bedrooms/ bathrooms AND they looked online to view the specifics of my home. In other words I would pay the $145 and they could come and give me a price and if it was higher than normal I would have no way out other than losing my $145. This is unacceptable business practice!! I asked if I could speak with a technician or supervisor and was told that they would say the same thing that she was saying.I am reporting this to the BB

  • Ultra Safe Pest Management Inc
We had already tried Best Pest who in comparison did a cursory inspection and failed to resolve the problem. UltraSafe found an entry location in minutes in the inspection visit. On returning to install barriers inside & out, they discovered a second entry that we suspected but could not find. They completely blocked the two entry holes and set 4 exterior traps. They installed a barrier inside one of the units. They did an extremely thorough job. But time will tell. They will make 3 more inspection visits

Great, Jay came out twice and put down bait, sprayed the whole foundation and around the garage. So far so good, no ants!
  • New England Fence
Paul Massad Landscaping referred us to NEF as "the best installers around". They were certainly right. The process, from pre-estimate options, to walking the proposed fence line, to the installation, and even to checking back in on some last minute details - everything about our experience was exceptional. The people we met, Isaac, Pablo, Matt, and several others were pleasant and professional - they clearly LOVE their job and take a lot of pride in their work. They were a pleasure to have around. We loved the attention to detail, from touch-up paint to precision gate operation - just what we would have asked for

Fencing FAQ

  1. How much does it cost to install a fence?

Answer: The average cost to install a fence is $2,600. A variety of factors will impact the overall cost of fencing installation, such as the length of the fence, the materials you choose, and local labor costs. Fencing projects using the lowest cost materials and with lower labor costs can cost as little as $1 to $6 per linear foot, while projects using the highest cost materials and with higher labor costs may be as high as $15 to $45.

  2. Do I need a permit to build a fence around a yard?

Answer: Whether you’ll need a permit to build a fence around your yard will depend on your city or county's local codes. Many metropolitan and suburban areas require a permit to install most fencing, but they may not for fences situated behind a house as opposed to in front of it or fences that don’t run within a certain distance of the road. To find out if you’ll need a permit to fence your yard, reach out directly to your local government office.

  3. What is the cheapest fence to install?

Answer: The cheapest fencing to install is chain-link fencing. Chain-link fencing is typically cheaper than other fence types because the materials cost less, and installation is generally quicker and easier than other options. Chain-link fencing is affordable, easy to install, and low maintenance. However, it’s usually considered less secure than other options and doesn’t increase resale value as much as fences made of different materials.

  4. Is a wood or vinyl fence cheaper?

Answer: Wood fences are generally cheaper than the cost of vinyl fences. While the cost of materials for wood and vinyl fences is usually very similar, the labor cost associated with installing a vinyl fence is higher. Wood fencing is also easier to install than vinyl fencing, making it possible to save money by making wood fence installation a DIY project. It’s also possible to DIY install a vinyl fence.

  5. What is the life expectancy of a vinyl fence?

Answer: Vinyl fencing can be expected to last between 10 and 30 years. Vinyl fencing is generally low maintenance, but proper care will ensure it lasts as long as possible. Its long life span and high return on investment make vinyl fencing a popular option for many homeowners.

  6. What type of fence adds to the property value?

Answer: Installing quality fencing, no matter the fence type, will generally add value to your property. In general, fences made of longer-lasting, lower-maintenance, and more attractive materials—like wrought-iron, composite, or vinyl—add more value to a property than fences made of lower-cost or less attractive materials, like chain-link. To ensure your fencing adds as much value to your home as possible, be sure it’s properly permitted, approved by your homeowners association (if you have one), and installed properly.
