"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. "We had four area companies evaluate and quote the replacement of a gas floor furnace for our mill house. We have been very happy with the performance and lack of blower noise for the furnace, but it is difficult to find a company that still handles them. We got everything from "the city is going to condemn your house unless you do this or that, and you'll need to find another additional contractor to handle some of the work" to "we can't do the job without a large outlay to meet city codes". We were fortunate to contact Dave at AccuAir and he was both familiar with the furnace and was way ahead of the game on how to install the unit to pass the building codes. The team from AccuAir was extremely professional, personable, fast, and neat. The quote was ideal for our budget and the installation passed city inspection without a hitch. It was so great to deal with a company that knew what they were doing, weren't trying to upsell you into something expensive, and did not use scare tactics. We would not hesitate to use AccuAir again, and feel very comfortable recommending them."

Boilers are used mainly for central heating, and water heaters are used for ordinary household water use. In fact, a conventional boiler works best if your home already has a water heater system in place. Sometimes a boiler can be combined with indirect water heaters. But there are also premade combination boiler heaters.

Choosing between an electric water heater vs. a gas water heater comes down to personal preference. Overall, electric heaters are more energy efficient than their gas competitors. They’re also quieter to operate, take up less room, and don’t come with a risk of gas leaks. 

The downside is that electric water heaters cost more to operate than gas. They might also struggle to heat water fast enough for households that use large amounts of hot water. Lastly, a power outage could cause your electric water heater to stop working, whereas gas water heaters may still function.

You can and should vent the gas from your hot water heater to the outside of your home. Traditionally, these gases were vented back to other gas appliances, like stoves or furnaces, but many jurisdictions have outlawed this practice due to the risks it provides. 

Most water heaters today use atmospheric venting that exhausts the gas out of the home through a pipe.

Standard electric water heaters (about 40 gallons) typically need a 30-amp circuit breaker. But if you have a newer model, a tankless water heater, or one that’s more energy efficient, you’ll likely need a higher amperage to power it. 

Having the right size circuit breaker for your water heater is an important part of making sure it heats water efficiently and runs safely. A licensed electrician can help you navigate your options, and determine what you need for your new water heater. 

It usually takes a professional water heater installer between two and three hours to remove an existing water heater and install a new tank heater. However, it could take four to five hours if they have to work in a small utility closet or another tight area, like a crawl space. Tankless water heaters have a more complicated installation process, so they will take a bit longer. Additionally, a gas water heater requires a connection to a gas line, and that alone can add about an hour to the installation timeline compared to installing an electric water heater.
