The only downsides to hiring a master plumber is that they charge a higher hourly rate than a less experienced plumber. Plus, master plumbers likely have less availability, given the demand for highly experienced professionals. The benefits far outweigh the cons, though. Upsides include the following:

Shower mixing valves are usually located behind the shower handles. Accessing the mixing valve is difficult for a DIYer, so it’s best to call a pro if you think this could be the issue. A plumbing repair expert has the right tools and knowledge to easily access the valve, diagnose the issue, and recommend repairs if needed.

Most of the time, you can replace a kitchen sink without replacing the entire counter. However, if you’re replacing a large sink with a smaller sink, you’ll have to fully replace the counter because you’ll have a gap in the sink space area. But if your new sink is bigger than your old sink, your pro can simply cut into your counter to open up space for it.

You’ll need two sizes of pipe to plumb a bathroom. You’ll use a 1/2-inch pressure pipe for your supply lines that run from the fixture to the larger 3/4-inch supply lines that run through the house. For drain lines, you’ll need a 3-inch PVC pipe for your toilet, a 2-inch PVC pipe for stand-alone showers, and a 1 1/2-inch pipe for a shower/tub combo and the bathroom sink. Each fixture’s drain will run to the 3-inch main drain that runs through the house.
