"Some communication issues caused the project to take longer than expected after multiple no-show days, but once they got going everything proceeded well. Very pleased with the end product and would definitely consider them first for our next paint project."

"Highly recommend them. It's become a chore trying to find reliable and honest help nowadays. I needed some repairs on my porch and can't do them myself. I decided to give them a try and was immediately put st ease at how friendly and knowledgeable they were. They showed up when they promised and did a fantastic job. What really impressed me was the fact that they kept the jobsite neat and didn't dilly dally. They answered any questions I had and made sure I was happy with the work they were doing. I was thoroughly impressed. As a single female I often worry about being taken advantage of and I never once felt this way. Appreciated the follow up call to ensure my satisfaction!!!"

"BK Drywall was prompt, courteous, and on time with our appointment. His price quote was very good and he was ready to start the job that very week. Our plans for the project took a different course, so we decided not to make the repairs after all. However, we will definitely call BK Drywall for any future projects."

Small jobs welcome

"Adam, Chuck, and Jose are great! I highly recommend them and will tell all my friends. BTW, I was in Sherwin Williams today and they even said great things about working with Chuck (totally unsolicited!). Cheyenne has been so great. Great communicator and very efficient! They removed my popcorn (nasty) ceiling, wallpaper, 1979 drop-down kitchen lighting, painted my fireplace, and much more! Don't hesitate to hire them!"

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Most repairs take 1-3 days, depending on drying times for joint compound and paint touch-ups.

If the holes in the plaster are small, you can fill them with layers of patching plaster until they’re filled. After it dries, you can sand the plaster and paint over it. If the hole is much larger, consider using bonding plaster first and then a layer of patching plaster, completing the process with sanding and a layer of paint.

Small patches can be DIY, but professionals handle large-scale repairs with seamless results.

Plaster provides a durable, soundproof, and moisture-resistant finish compared to drywall.

Although they have similar applications, spackle and joint compound are not the same. Their primary differences lie in their composition, consistency, and ideal use cases.

Spackle is composed of gypsum and binding agents, making it thicker than joint compound. It dries quickly and is easy to sand, which makes it ideal for small wall repair projects like filling nail holes or patching minor damage.

Joint compound, also known as drywall mud, consists of limestone and gypsum. It is primarily used for large-scale projects, such as taping and finishing the seams on newly installed drywall. It tends to shrink more than spackle and can be more difficult to spread.

While both products can be used to fill small depressions and cracks, spackle cannot replace joint compound for taping and mudding new drywall. Conversely, you can often use joint compound for small patching jobs typically done with spackle.
