"The tech arrived very quickly and worked for almost an hour to clear the plugged drain and got the air conditioner back running when the outdoor temperature was in the 90's. Kinty Jones has been our A/C service company for many years as my Dad and I have several rental units, homes and businesses. If the air coming from your AC unit is cool but never quite cold, there are a few reasons this might be happening. For starters, it could signal that your refrigerant levels are low. If there are no other indications of this particular issue, like hissing noises or frozen refrigerant lines, anything from dirty filters to damaged condenser or evaporator coils could be responsible for the problem.

It is normal for the attic to be hotter than the rest of the house in the summer, but only by about 10 or 20 degrees. But a swamp cooler is different from a standard portable AC unit.

Setting your AC unit to 78 degrees can, indeed, help you save energy. In fact, according to experts, every degree you turn the unit up could save you between 1% and 3% on your energy bills. That said, turning your unit off entirely while you’re out might actually be less efficient than keeping it on at a higher temperature. Why? The unit will need to work extra hard to cool the house back off again after all those hot hours.
