My service call trip is usually between $30-50 in the Oklahoma City Metro, and $60/hr. afterwards, plus materials. I'll travel just about anywhere in the state if my client will cover mileage. I accept all major credit cards, personal checks, and I still take cash! I have been mounting TV's on walls and fireplaces for many years now, and have a 4.5+ job reviews. If you’re having problems with poor reception, here are some simple tips that may help improve the signal and picture quality.
Consider the position of the antenna: Could it be higher, is it secure, or are nearby obstructions interfering with the signal? For a directional antenna, you may need to reposition it in the direction of the broadcast tower.
Move any metallic objects: Metal can interfere or block reception, so if you have stainless steel objects or the antenna is near a wrought-iron fence, this could be a problem. Try to keep the antenna at least six feet away from metal objects..
Cable length: An overly long cable can reduce signal strength. If you don’t need as much cable as you are using, it may be better to exchange it for a shorter one.
Signal loss, loose mounts, cable damage, and weather-related wear often require repair.
Before your TV antenna stops working, there are a few ways to tell it’s starting to break. Some common signs that your antenna needs repair include:
A repetitive “no signal” issue
A redundant “searching” issue
Increased signal issues during a cloudy or rainy day
A sudden drop in signal strength, regardless of the weather
If you’re experiencing these problems, you’ll want to ensure that your cables are still in good shape and have not deteriorated. In addition, check to make sure that your cables are firmly in place at the wall outlet. Finally, check the position of your antenna to ensure there are no obstructions in its path. If you’ve checked your antenna thoroughly and are still having these problems, a repair is most likely needed by an antenna technician.
Most repairs take 1-4 hours, but complex signal issues may require further troubleshooting.
