"Smalltown Property Revival provided a free detailed estimate of all the work I wanted done. Chris said they could take care of all of it in one day and they did. Workers Gavin, Zack and Jared toiled diligently at cleaning out areas of overgrown brush, bushes, one huge and one smaller tree along with old fencing, posts and a big decrepit old doghouse. They hauled everything away and left the area in much better shape . Everyone of them were respectful and polite. You can't go wrong by choosing this company."

"These guys saved my job and the landscaping too! My boss had been wanting myself and my team to take care of the landscaping for over a year. They came in & removed the birds nest under our site sign, added GREAT mulch, & made sure our landscaping got what it needed (water & love). When we hired them, I literally said “I don’t want my boss to come to town and talk to me about landscaping. I want him to talk to me about BBQ”. We don’t recommend DIY tree trimming for a few different reasons. First, the tools required to trim a tree can be costly, up to $1,100 or more, for the ladders and specialized saws needed. 

Safety is another concern, especially when working with more mature trees. As a guideline, you should only DIY tree trimming when branches are less than two inches in diameter. Any more, and the safety risk becomes too high, which could lead to catastrophe. For this job, it’s safest to let a tree-trimming professional assess the work needed.

Whether tree roots will continue to grow after a tree has been cut down depends on the species. Some tree roots will eventually die because they can no longer get nutrients through photosynthesis. However, other species that reproduce through root sprouts can continue to grow and produce new sprouts for seven years or more. For example, the roots of elms, ficus, and willows tend to regrow aggressively, while the roots of pines, oaks, and maples will typically die. To determine if a root system is still active, look for new sprouts on the old trunk, stump, or any exposed roots.

If you’re looking to rot a tree stump fast, potassium nitrate will work far quicker than copper nails. First, drill several holes into the stump using a power drill, then pour potassium nitrate pellets into the holes. Next, add water to help the chemical absorb into the wood, thoroughly soaking the stump to ensure the pellets dissolve and spread evenly. Afterward, cover the stump with a tarp to retain moisture and block sunlight, then place mulch on top to secure it in place.
