"George and crew were amazing! The paint job was pristine and exactly what we wanted. The installation of various items around the house was fast and well done. George knows what he is doing and I would trust him to handle any job and know that it will be done well! Would recommend to anyone and hire for any future jobs!"

"They did a whole house electrical inspection a couple of months ago, and they even changed out burned out light bulbs for me.  I give them a B on the price; they're a little high, but they do a good job.  I didn't even ask them; they just said have you got any extra bulbs, we will change them out for you. They weren't repairing anything, they were just inspecting to make sure my electrical system was working.  I've had an air conditioner, a heater, a whole house generator, and a whole house humidifier put in by them.  They do annual electric and plumbing inspections as well as heat and air inspections, they are always extremely nice and do a good job when they do an installation, and I appreciate the inspections that are free.  They did an inspection last winter on the heater, but no work actually.  When they installed the new heater, it's worked just fine.  They just inspect it on a yearly basis."

"Two weeks in advance of their service, I called and arranged for them to come out for a one time cleaning. Based on Angie's list qualities, I was highly interested in hiring them on a permanent basis - sight unseen! I am glad I didn't. The first notion of their inefficiency was realized when it took three separate back to back phone calls to give me the cleaning appointment. I was quite thorough in communicating my house details and needs and that I wanted the house to be cleaned on the given date. They finally gave me a time slot of showing up between 10 AM till 1 PM. After 1:15 PM on the set date, I called them and inquired about the delay. First they said with a "sorry" that they don't know, they'll look into it and call me back in 10 minutes. More than 30 minutes later, they called back and said "sorry but they are running late" and that I wasn't schedualed for a cleaning, rather an estimate only. I asked them to refer to their records and call me back. After more waiting they called with more "sorry, there was a mix up, the ladies who make the schedule made an error". Finally two professional looking cleaners showed. I started with offering them some water or Gateraid to drink which they passed. I asked how often such mix ups happen. They said only it has happened 3-4 times maybe. I walked them through the rooms and expressed my expectations and they set off to work. When they finished, they asked for me to check their work. Disappointingly, we found numerous spots and streaks on mirrors in both full bathrooms. I showed them, they saw and recognized them to, then I showed how they come off with some elbow grease. They mostly stood back and watched. I pointed out the grimy residue remains from the cleanser they used on one of the tubs. I asked if that was normal? They said "no" and commenced to rinsing. Then we found blotches of residue from sprayer they used to clean the windowsill left behind. I showed and demonstrated how easily it comes off and they finished the windowsill too. I asked if they dusted the top of my TV cabinet in my bedroom and they said only as high as they could stand and reach. It didn't occ to them to use an extension or a stepping stool. They said they cleaned my wood floor in living and dining area. It did not look waxed, but I didn't want to argue. The pair representing Clara's cleaning came across as cold and uncaring. I paid them the agreed amount and will not be asking them back. Later I found huge streaks left behind on my living room windows too.

"The crew did a very good job on the work.  Very detailed oriented, no carelessness seen in the painting, trim lines were sharp and well done.  I was able to watch the crew a couple days near the end of the day and they were walking around carefully checking their work to make sure nothing was missed, touching up spots that needed work and didn't seem in a hurry to leave just because the day was close to an end.  On the last day they even took a moment to fix a loose door handle on a storm door that they came across that I hadn't noticed.
As far as cost comparison, the quotes for the work was in the middle of the range from the other operators but this isn't a completely apples to oranges comparison as Action Painting and Repair's quote on the painting project had more detail on the prep work and included some carpentry repair cost upfront whereas the other operators statement of work and cost quote was more vague and just seemed to be painting and power washing.  The quote cost for the gutter install was in line with other quotes I received.
Importantly, the owner/operator, Matthew White, promptly returned phone calls and emails and also showed up for quotes and work reviews when he said he would.  His crews showed up when they said they would and never left a mess behind.
This is contrast to the three other operators I contacted for quotes.  One didn't return my call for a week, after I had selected Action Painting and another no called no showed for the first contact quote.

Bathroom Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

Never add oil unless the fan is specifically designed for it. Most modern ceiling fans are designed with sealed bearings that don’t require oiling. However, some older fans may have oil ports for lubrication. If your fan is older and you hear squeaking or grinding, check the manual or the manufacturer’s website to see if oiling is recommended.

The most efficient ceiling fan height is 8 to 9 feet from the floor to the fan blades. For ceilings higher than 9 feet, a downrod can be used to lower the fan to the optimal height. This positioning ensures adequate air circulation and maximizes the cooling effect. Remember, fans should be installed at least 7 feet above the floor for safety.

A whole-house fan works best to pull chilled and dry air into your home in the early morning hours and at night. This system allows you to close your windows after turning off the fan and trap the cool air inside. You can run your whole house fan continuously for maximum ventilation and fresh air, or you can turn it on for ten minutes or so at a time to introduce cool, fresh air as needed.

Before committing to this new project, you’re likely weighing the pros and cons of attic fans. The good news is that typical roof vents can only ventilate 150 to 300 square feet per unit, whereas a single attic fan can circulate enough air to vent an entire attic. By moving large volumes of air within and out of the attic space, an attic fan can lower the temperature by 15 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit and reduce moisture to prevent mold and mildew.

It is unlikely that a ceiling fan will fall, even if it develops a wobble. During a proper installation, ceiling fans are securely bolted to a ceiling joist, and the fasteners used for mounting are generally separate from the components related to balancing. A wobble is typically caused by an imbalance, which can be annoying and may lead to other issues, but is not usually dangerous on its own.

However, if a fan is wobbling because it was not installed correctly, it could be at risk of falling. For safety, it's always a good idea to ensure all mounting screws are tight and to address any wobbling or imbalance issues promptly.
