"They did an inspection and thermal imaging and provided an estimate. On the main return box, they replaced the old grate and insulated the interior. Throughout the attic, they laid down a radiant/thermal/vapor layer, did some partial soffit blocking and ventilation, did a partial attic seal, add added 64 bags of borate-stabilized cellulose attic insulation to bring it to an R-38 value. They also had to replace a duct (that had developed holes or tears) that ran to the master bedroom. The upgrade should make me eligible for a $500 OGE Rebate."

"A lot of people recommended that we just do blown insulation because spray was expensive. After receiving many quotes from a variety of companies I chose Alpa Omega Insulation. The owner came out and was very honest and personable and his quote was reasonable compared to the other companies. During the work I had no problems contacting him whether it was via text or phone call, he always answered and returned my phone calls. During any construction you run into problems that push back the next step and I called him several times to reschedule due to last minute issues and he was always pleasant and professional and never had an issue. I can not say enough highly praised words for this company! I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs any insulation work done!"

"Community Builders was 1 of 5 companies I "interviewed" to do my siding. Rodney Smth (Salesman) arrived at my house, we walked around my property, took the measurements, and proceeded to talk about his product. Rodney was not a high pressure salesman (that’s a good thing) and he was proficient at demonstrating his product. I explained what I wanted installed on my house and also made it a point to mention certain things (additional insulation backing, a solid core vinyl siding, door facings), to ensure my comparisons of all 5 companies was “fair”. His quote included the siding, and guttering, and all that we talked about. However, his quote was WAY out of my price range!!! When he initially showed me his quote, it was in the $25K range. This quote was for 3 gables, and facia, eaves, and guttering! Yes, the product he had was a SUPERIOR product, but it was WAY out of my price range! He did back that price down by removing some of my requirements, but at that point, I wasn’t getting what I wanted and I wasn’t settling! I chose to go with someone else....more at a reasonable price. "

You’ll get better results if you soundproof the whole wall. A hole through which light can pass can also let sound waves in. Acoustical or silicone sealant applied to holes and cracks can block enough sound to make a difference. However, the more layers absorb vibrations and slow or stop sound waves, the less noise you’ll have.
When doing a DIY paint job, it can be tricky to achieve the perfect, straight line between your wall and ceiling. There are several methods, including lining it with painter’s tape and using the “cut in” brush tactic. Some homeowners choose to apply a thin line of caulk to the wall-ceiling seam to create the appearance of a perfect line.
The best way to make long, straight cuts is to use a utility knife and a T-square to score the sheet, snap along the score, and then finish the cut by cutting through the paper on the opposite side with the utility knife. If you’re making small cuts, curved cuts, or cutouts for electrical boxes or light fixtures, you can use a manual jab saw to keep costs down, but an electric spiral saw or oscillating multi-tool will get the cleanest, fastest cuts possible.
If you don’t have studs in the area where you want to install your TV mount, you may still be able to install a TV mount on drywall. The easiest way to install a mount on drywall is by using drywall anchors—but not just any plastic anchors. Choose molly bolts or toggle anchors, which have a weight capacity of around 50 pounds. For added support, consider pairing drywall anchors with a wall mounting plate. Extra heavy TVs may need to be mounted via the ceiling joists or beams.
The best tool for cutting a hole in drywall is a drywall saw. Its serrated blade and ergonomic design make it efficient for both straight cuts and more intricate shapes, ensuring clean and precise results in various drywall cutting applications.
