I am the sole employee, who occasionally uses subcontractors, with member’s approval. I am a jack of all trades and can perform most jobs around the house. Some of my handyman services include but are not limited to: flooring repairs and installs, interior and exterior painting, fencing, tree services, carpentry work, lawn and yard work, ceiling fan and fixture installations, appliance repairs, TV wall mounts, ceramic tile, and roof repairs. I am not a licensed contractor, but I can repair and/or replace existing electrical and plumbing needs. A 7 to 12-inch wide microfiber or synthetic paint roller with a nap of 3/8 to 1/2 an inch will give you smooth, even paint coverage on interior walls. Before getting started, wrap painter’s tape around the roller cover to remove any lint or fibers that may end up embedded in the paint, ruining your even finish.

Painting a wall involves multiple steps. First, clean and sand the wall to prepare the surface, then tape off any areas where you don't want paint to go. Next, shake or stir the paint in the can, then pour it into a tray. 

Dip a paintbrush into the paint can so that half of the bristles are coated. Use the brush to cut in or make a frame around the edges of the wall. Then, roll the paint roller in the tray, ensuring that it is evenly covered in paint. Roll the paint onto the wall in an "M" or "W" formation, making sure the paint is applied evenly.

In most cases, paint primer is necessary before painting over wood paneling. A hardy primer formula covers up stains and leaves a grippy surface for the new paint to hold onto. If you don’t use a primer first, you risk poor adhesion, visible blemishes, and a paint top coat that could flake away later. 

There are two primer choices: oil-based or latex-based. Choose an oil-based primer for durability and adhesion, but prepare for extra dry time and more VOC (volatile organic compounds) fumes. Or, pick a stain-blocking latex primer. They’re easy to apply, clean up, and affordable.

Painting over stucco could be a good idea if you’d like an entirely different color for your home or if your stucco is largely cracked and faded. Painting also helps prevent moisture from entering cracks, which could lead to mold and mildew growth. Depending on the paint you choose, you may also add an extra layer of waterproofing to your home when you paint the stucco.

You can remove your gutters before painting, but it's rarely required. It can be easier to paint gutters on the ground once you or a pro have removed them, but replacing them afterward can be challenging. In these cases, removing gutters may be impractical. Make your decision based on your comfort level and abilities.
