"Service: Stone Mailbox Built and Installed Gus was very communicative during the whole process. I wanted a stone mailbox that matched the stone to my house and he was able to get his masonry foreman to make that match. There was a minor delay (not on their side) but from where they ordered the materials from. Regardless, they were able to get the mailbox done the same week. I am needing other landscaping type services done eventually and Iâ m happy to use Lawn Company again. Thank you Gus and the rest of the hardworking crew!"

"Welp... it turned out to be an exceptionally challenging job! First, let me just say how patient and kind Bruce, Corbin, and Felippe (sp?) were. I asked them right off if they would mind if I watched the happenings, because I love to watch and learn how things are made/put together/fixed so that I can understand the processes better. I'm sure they would rather I wasn't out there as much as I was lol, but my intent was definitely not to micro-manage something I knew nothing about, but to learn. Not once did any of them show a single bit of irritation at my questions and curiosity, they were only ever very kind. My sprinkler system is very old and was, apparently, put together in a rather convoluted way. Bruce (Maxwell) was able to find the missing zone box(es) within a relatively short time, where another company was unable to after several hours. But the biggest problem (and boy was/is it a problem) came from our large sycamore tree and it's prolific root system; our sprinkler lines and wires were literally encapsulated within the roots... swallowed whole (see photos)! Every proverbial corner the guys turned there was another large root in the way! Chain saws, sawzalls, axes, crow bars, and large metal mallets were amongst the tools used to fix a sprinkler system lol. Crazy! I couldn't believe the challenge -- and I was only watching, not doing the physical work (although I honestly wouldn't have minded helping). I'm definitely more educated now in the challenges that can take place in what I honestly perceived as a physical, but not especially complicated area of landscaping. Boy was I wrong. They are the most diligent, dedicated, problem solvers and were able to get my entire system up and running after A LOT of VERY hard work. It took longer than any of us wanted and expected; several days and a lot of hours were put in, through no fault of any person, but through every fault of nature. The final cost was more than we were planning on, but these guys worked so hard (which I would be ignorant of had I not been out there watching) and they earned every dollar. I am impressed with all of the quiet, quick after-hour visits just to check everything is as it should be. I'm grateful I discovered Maxwell Landscape Company and that they didn't give up on my "yard from ****" ;-). I'm hoping to use their services for years to come in the lawn and landscape arena, but really hope none of us have to deal with the sprinkler system again!"

"I called him with a need for a gate to be replaced on a property I was about to move into. He was on his way out of town, but did the job immediately after returning. He did an excellent job. The gate was not what I envisioned, but was much better. I would definitely use him again."

Holiday Decorating questions, answered by experts

Outdoor Christmas lights cost between $80 to $300 on average without installation. This comes out to about $4 to $50 per strand. You can get a box of outdoor Christmas lights for as little as $20, if you just want to decorate a small area, like a doorway. If you want to go all out and cover your entire home, you'll need between 10 to 20 strands of 100 to 200 bulbs each.

Inspect for burnt-out bulbs, secure connections, and protect from water exposure to maintain functionality.

An affordable Christmas light bulb testing and replacement tool can make the job easier. But you can most likely make all necessary repairs yourself using common toolbox items if you’d rather avoid purchasing another gadget.

Decorators often prefer artificial Christmas trees. They’re easier to handle and shape, and decorators don’t have to worry about bugs or allergies. It’s also an ideal choice because artificial trees keep up appearances without owners needing to schedule watering.

However, always confirm that decorators are ready to unbox and set up the artificial tree. If they don’t include tree set-up in their services, you may need to hire a general handyperson for that task.

Heavy amounts of snow could be a problem. In many climates, lots of snow on your rooftop can lead to freeze-thaw cycle that create ice dams, which can damage rooftops. But if you’re using shingle clips, this snow poses an additional problem: As it melts and freezes, it can easily dislodge clips you’ve placed on your roof.

You can clean snow off your roof after a fresh snowfall while it’s still lightweight, but brushing off snow can also dislodge your clips. If you get a lot of snow, then roof clips become less viable.
