Customers say: Quick response

"I called this morning and spoke with Mr. Gifford about power washing my home. He said he would come to my house in 1 1/2 hours for an estimate. He was there on time. I told him what I'd like done and he gave me a very fair estimate. Mr. Gifford is a no nonsense guy. Said he could do the job the same day!!! (my timing must have been perfect) I hired him. He did an outstanding job on the exterior of my home and even threw in some sidewalk. He educated me on some areas that might need some attention and I appreciated that. Mr. Gifford power washed my house in 3 hours. She looks like a new penny. I am so lucky to find this professional ! He is your go to guy for many jobs. You won't be disappointed. Great Job!"

Pressure Washing questions, answered by experts

You should never use bleach in a pressure washer. While bleach is effective at killing mold and mildew, it is a potent chemical that can corrode the machine's seals and nozzles, destroying it from the inside out. Additionally, pressure washing with bleach sprays the chemical into the air, which is dangerous if inhaled and can kill nearby plants, flowers, or harm animals that ingest it. If you need to remove mold or mildew, it is best to hire a professional who will use a safe and effective cleaning agent.

No, you should not use a pressure washer or power washer on roof shingles, including asphalt shingles. The high water pressure is too strong and can damage the shingles by loosening their adhesive, forcing water underneath them, or causing them to fall off. The safer and better option is soft washing with a pump sprayer. For best results and to avoid damage, consider hiring a local roof cleaner to clean your shingles safely.

You’ll need to wait until the surface is completely dry, which can take anywhere from 24 to 48 hours under optimal conditions. The waiting period depends on several factors, including the type of siding and the weather conditions. Trying to paint before the surface is completely dry can trap moisture under the paint, leading to bubbling, blistering, and mold growth.

Pressure washing your home or fence can make a major difference in the appearance and may even help extend the life of the structure you’re cleaning. Some of the most common areas that people pressure wash around their property include:

  • Driveway: $100–$250

  • Patio: $100–$200

  • Fence: $150–$300

  • Gutters: $50–$150

  • Roof: $450–$700

  • Siding: $150–$1,400

  • One-story house: $150–$750

  • Two-story house: $400–$1,400

  • Three-story house: $700–$1,800

Pressure washing pros use several factors to determine fence pressure washing costs—and one of the main factors they consider is the fence’s material. The material dictates the required PSI—which, in turn, affects the amount of labor needed for the job.

Contractors may also consider the number of gallons per minute (GPM) needed to pressure wash specific materials. GPM, which refers to the rate of water being released from a pressure washer, helps determine how long a job will take for specific fencing materials.
