"The sales person was very late for his appointment and didn't call to let us know he was going to be late. The workers did good work except the doors. We called the office to ask them to come back and fix the doors but we didn't hear from them for a few weeks so we called again. They came after few days and fixed them. We're happy with the work. It looks good.

Door Repair questions, answered by experts

Before attempting to reinforce an apartment door, speak to the property owner. If the door hasn’t been updated in a while, the landlord may offer to cover the cost of a professional locksmith or your expense of this security update. Rekeying a door can be a costly and lengthy affair, so try low-impact, inexpensive tricks—like installing a deadlock or a door jammer—first.

While it's likely that a door handle will sag over time, there are some things you can do to maintain your handles and keep them from drooping. Regular maintenance, including cleaning and lubrication, is one place to start. Inspecting the door regularly, at least once or twice a year, to make sure that the connections aren't too tight is another good idea.

No, most door experts recommend against using WD-40 on sliding glass doors. This specific product can attract dirt and debris, which can build up over time and make it even harder for your door to open and close. Instead, use a silicone-based lubricant or a dry lubricant like wax or Teflon.

Doors get more sticky in the summer. Contrary to popular belief, doors can also stick in the winter since humidity causes doors to stick during both seasons. However, thermal expansion and humidity in the summer mean that the thermal heat and moisture in the air both play a role in causing a door to stick.

Yes, but adding a deadbolt to some door materials, like steel, may make installation a little bit trickier. For these materials, you will want to hire a locksmith to do the work for you, but be aware that they may charge an additional fee of $25 to $50 or more.
