They can also handle cleanup, stump removal, and obtaining the necessary permits.

Coverage varies quite a bit by policy, but most homeowners' insurance policies will cover $500 to $1,000 of the cost of removing a tree. Additionally, if your tree causes damage to your property, like your house, many policies will cover some or all of the costs to repair the damage, depending on why the tree fell.

Transplanting a palm tree is a similar process except for a couple of important differences. First, their root ball doesn’t need to be as large as a “true” tree, which makes them a bit easier to dig up and move around. Second, they struggle more with taking root and staying upright in a new location, so it’s important to give them extra support when staking.

For safety reasons, leaning trees are best removed by a professional, as they may often tear away from the hinge, causing you to lose control over where the tree falls. A standard tree removal doesn’t include stump grinding. If you want your contractor to remove your tree and grind the stump, you must pay an extra charge. That said, you’ll likely save on the cost of stand-alone service—especially if it’s a small tree and they can finish both jobs in a single trip.
