"I searched businesses that replaced gutters. I chose his site and filled out the information for him to see. He called me almost immediately. He wanted to come up that afternoon, (which was a Friday) but we were expecting thunderstorms and I didn't want him to be out in that kind of weather. He said he'd call me on Monday. He did and came out that day. Very, very nice man. Extremely professional. He took the measurements of my house and said he'd see me in about 3 weeks. A week later he called and said they were ready to put the new gutters in and would it be okay if he came at 8:00 am. I answered, "Of course"! They started right away and were done around 1:30pm. I was amazed. I will be calling him to replace the gutters on my garage. I'm so impressed and would 100% recommend him to anybody. Thanks, Ivan!!"

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

Yes, and repairing such damage is another repair that’s done often. Sagging gutters are usually the result of one of two things: damage or overload. For example, ice buildup over the winter due to clogged gutters can cause expansion, stretching the gutters. A falling tree limb or even a rogue baseball can cause gutters to sag. Sagging gutters can be repaired, but they are often replaced because it can take less time.

Repairs typically take 1-3 hours, depending on the extent of the damage.

Downspouts channel water from your roof and gutters into the ground following a specific route so water doesn’t accumulate around your house’s foundation. Without a downspout, the standing water will wash away material and disrupt the soil, leading to foundation erosion. The standing water will also form ice around your house during cold weather, causing a safety hazard.

Yes. Excessive pitch in gutters can cause water to flow too rapidly, leading to a decrease in the gutter's water-holding capacity; consequently, during heavy rainstorms, water may awkwardly splash outside the gutters. Ideally, you should aim for a quarter-inch of gutter slope for every 10 feet of gutter run. However, it's important to note that this guideline may vary depending on your home's structure and the type of gutters being installed.

Yes, it’s possible to replace only one section of a gutter, and it’s a common repair. Often, a tree limb will damage a gutter on one side of the house, or constant weather will cause early corrosion. Gutters are often joined together with couplings that are easy to remove and swap out. For this reason, some homeowners will purchase extra gutters when they install them to have spare sections to use for replacement later.
