"Chris was prompt in communicating and clear on his services and price.  His crew was prompt and on time.  They were amazing professionals in the art of climbing, cutting, and use of ropes and pulleys.  This was a daunting job, and they rose to the job working tirelessly!  They were polite, professional and stayed until the job was complete.  My yard was cleaned, the stump ground and raked, and left in great condition!  I would recommend Extreme Tree Service over any other service that I have hired!!!  They did a wonderful job!!!

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Leaving the tree stump and letting it rot is never a good idea, as this leads to insect infestations and other frustrations. Additionally, decomposing trunks are at risk for diseases that spread out to the remaining plants and trees in the yard, thus ruining your whole outdoor aesthetic. It's usually best to remove the stump at the same time you remove the tree.

For trimming trees, your best tool is a pair of pruning shears or loppers. Both options work best for branches that are under 3 inches in diameter. Trimming trees with a larger diameter may require a robust tool like a small chainsaw or a handsaw, so take into account your tree’s diameter when deciding between tools.

Horticulturist is a broad term for any type of plant and soil expert. An arborist, meanwhile, specializes in all aspects of tree care. You should hire an arborist when you need assistance with tree-related tasks, such as pruning large trees, removing trees, diagnosing a sick tree, or emergency tree services. Horticulturists aren’t qualified to handle those types of tasks.

For small trees, tree removal should take just a couple of hours to complete. Assume that a mid-sized tree will take between four and eight hours, depending on the extent of the equipment required and the health of the tree. Remember to add up to two hours for stump removal. Larger trees could take as long as one or two working days, about eight hours each.

In nature, there are many things that can cause a tree to die, including diseases, insects, and natural disasters such as fires or droughts. Non-natural methods of killing a tree include herbicides or manual intervention, such as cutting it down. Consult a tree removal professional about your options for naturally killing a tree.
