"If you read all the reviews, he probably does good work if he will show up. Gave him a deposit to paint my house March 10, in July I haven’t heard back from him and called, said it should be done by the end of the month or so, it wasn’t. Called him in August said it should be done by the end of the month, it wasn’t. Called in September he said that should be done by the end of the month, September 23 still no word from him so I just canceled and got my deposit back."

Even if the walls are in good condition and primed well, that third layer of wallpaper could cause problems with adhesion. While it is possible to paint over wallpaper, it’s not always ideal. If the wallpaper is firmly adhered, has no bubbling or peeling, and isn’t textured, you can try to prime and paint over it. Use an oil-based primer to prevent the adhesive from bleeding through. However, if the paper is damaged or loose, removal is the better long-term solution.
