My basement was very dark. I had plans to remodel in ways to make it brighter and updated, which included the installation of better windows. I was pleasantly surprised that Matt was willing to come to Dayton from Columbus for this job, but found out this was part of his "service" area and routinely did projects here. The price was in line with what I had expected. The install occurred the fall of 2013. What went right: The windows did indeed really boost the look and the brightness of the basement. I don't regret making the decision to do the windows from that standpoint. The crew was friendly and respectful. What went wrong: Gosh, where to start...... In cutting the concrete, an electrical line connecting three outlets on the front basement wall was cut, disabling the outlets. He offered to "fix" this, but I am sure glad I declined. I hired an electrician after the windows were installed. I was not prepared for water to be passed into the basement. They were using heavy duty saws and running water over the blade to keep it cool, a lot of which went into the already finished space of the basement, soaking the carpet. Luckily for me, the carpet was on the demo list as part of the remodel. I ran a dehumidifier to try and pull out the rest of the moisture from the walls. They shoved the air conditioner off its pad. I noticed this before they left and asked them to put it back where it belonged, which they neglected to do. I had to hire an HVAC company to do this and luckily I did, because it was discovered that the line to the air conditioner had been severed when it was pushed off the pad. I had asked that the three windows be trimmed out on the inside with a clear pine, nothing fancy. That was done, but nothing on the interior was caulked, a lot was not square. Since one of the windows was the key to fixing the severed electrical line for the outlets, the trim had to be pulled off to access the wall behind. When the trim was pulled off, there were huge air gaps all the way around the window between the framing, the trim and the paneling on the wall. Also discovered that the trim was not tied to anything of any substance, and very few nails had been used. Hired someone to retrim the interior. On the outside, there was no trim, the frame of the window was exposed to the outside without any attempt at winter proofing or caulking. Hired a guy to trim and finish the outside of the windows, make them look finished. Fast forward to the epic rains of the spring of 2014. For the first time in 15 years, I had water in my basement. In attempting to diagnose how the water came in, one of the things I noticed was in the area where the water was coming in, that egress window had water standing in the bottom of it; draining very slowly. A friend and I dug down to see if drains had actually been installed and discovered that the "drain" was black plastic pipe, completely filled and covered with gravel. Not my idea of an effective draining system. So, I called Matt to come and take a look at the drains. This was roughly the middle of June 2014. He seemed amenable about returning and putting in a better drain with a cap that would keep the gravel out of the drain. He was supposed to call me in a few days to set up a time for his visit. He didn't call back, so within a week (roughly) I called him again. The last call I made to him, was the week before July 4. He couldn't give me a schedule because by golly, there were going to be fireworks all over Columbus the next week and it was a holiday. So he would have to call me after the festivities were over. Haven't heard from him since.

Provider sent General Manager to house on a Friday to assess need and he assured me company could do the work and he would leave me a quote by the following Monday. Over a week went by with no word from provider, so I called to follow-up. Provider made appointment for General Manager to come out again (after holiday weekend) to measure and give me a quote. I received a call within an hour of time scheduled provider was to arrive at my house indicating General Manager was 'still out of town' (holiday weekend) and needed to reschedule appointment. We rescheduled for later in week and as appointment date neared I received yet another call indicating General Manager likely wouldn't be back in town to make appointment. I rescheduled for an appointment the following week on a Wednesday @3pm, left work early to meet General Manager and sat here until 3:30pm before I finally called to ask if he was going to show up? Person I spoke to said she would have to locate him and call me back, I explained issues with last two appointments and she indicated she had no knowledge of him ever being out of town! She called me back about 30 minutes later and informed me she had spoken to him and he had the appointment down for the following day (Thursday). I informed her I know I didn't make appointment for a Thursday because I work in a different city on Thursdays and would never schedule a Thursday appointment during business hours. She said she could call him back and see if he could come by but at that point I had had enough. The sad part is I had been recommended to this company and have no doubt they could likely do the work, but this experience is enough for me to look elsewhere. Not sure if problem is too many customers or just lack of professionalism, but whatever it is I would advise you proceed with caution. The tile by the sliding door was cracked. We had orange carpeting where a closet had been taken out. The landing that went down to the basement wasn't level. We have never had baseboard in the room. Oh boy, I thought how will we ever get all these problems straightened out? Brent came to our house and told me how every single problem would be corrected. Marko and Travis arrived the day after Thanksgiving. They worked really hard for two and half days, and lo and behold, every problem was corrected, and I had a beautiful wood floor. The next week Dave Hutton arrived, and I had baseboard. Brent was right. He solved every one of my family room's problems and gave me lots of decorating ideas as well! Everything went as planned, and I couldn't be happier with my new floor. Thank you Brent, Marko, Travis, and Dave!

Our house is really dusty and they did a great job with cleaning and dusting. It is great having a clean home for holidays. Cleaned with Murphy's oil soap, which makes house smell clean and you can tell they've been here.

I'm a self employed handyman. I can do all kinds of home improvement repairs to your home from the landscaping all the way up to roofing repairs, and most things in between. Being self employed, I don't have all of the overhead that comes with the bigger companies, so I am able to charge less for the same kind of work. As a child, my grandparents had several rental properties, so they would always have me do repairs around the properties since I was about 10 years old. As I became a young adult, I joined the army to learn to be a diesel mechanic. Once I left, I started as an equipment technician for a landscaping company, which led me to do landscaping work all over Central Kentucky. You can see my work at places like the Kentucky horse park, as well as university of Kentucky and EKU. Once I moved to Ohio, I went back to being a handyman.

Holiday Decorating questions, answered by experts
Safe installation involves using appropriate anchors for weight and weather-resistant fixtures, ensuring all connections are secure and safe from water exposure. Removal should be performed carefully, avoiding pulling or yanking on cables to prevent damage to lighting and home exteriors.
The length of time shouldn’t matter much if you stick with lightweight Christmas lights and similar decorations. Those shouldn’t pose risks to your stucco. You should avoid attaching anything to your stucco that could fall because it’s too heavy, which may take part of the stucco with it. Some methods, like using double-sided tape or adhesive hooks, will naturally wear out over time and lead to falling lights, so don’t expect to leave these lights up year-round.
Yes, many services include removal as part of the package. Confirm with your provider.
One of the easiest ways to save money when hiring a holiday decorator is to provide storage for your decorations. If you have the space, you can save hundreds or even thousands of dollars by avoiding storage costs through your professional. It’s also a good idea to provide as much direction as possible for your professional, as this can cut down on design services. Finally, you can pay for your decorator to take down your decorations at the end of the season, but packaging and storing them yourself will save money on labor.
If you are hosting a large party this year or have staged your home for potential buyers, having a professionally-decorated tree can make a big impact. Christmas tree decorating services can also be more than worth it if you're unable to reach the top of your tree and need assistance with precarious ladder work.
