"Ray Troyer is just AMAZING! His crew is fabulous! Everyone was polite, professional, and took care to not damage the yard or house. They cleaned everything up and were careful to make sure there were no dangerous branches hanging. They took down 5 trees and cut-up two separate trees that had already fallen in TWO HOURS! I still can't believe how fast and efficient they worked! Also, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Ray is the brother-in-law to Ben Miller, (Trucoat Painting) who painted my house and also did a GREAT job! I would highly recommend both! Generally speaking, you’ll want to avoid flush cuts, which are cuts made as extremely close to the trunk or main branch. These cuts can weaken your tree, lower its natural defense mechanisms, and even cause decay. You’ll also want to avoid tree topping, which is the total removal of the leader and upper main branches of a tree. 

Most pros will advise against either of these methods, which is why hiring a pro is often the best choice when it comes to tree trimming.

If it’s your property, then you can plant a tree near power lines, but it’s not the best idea. Stump grinding consists of removing the visible part of the stump, but the roots remain intact. Depending on the tree and root system, the roots may still grow after stump grinding. If you are concerned about root growth and damage, you may want to consider having a stump removed completely.

You will know that an oak tree needs to be removed when you see vertical cracks or dead branch stubs, which indicate internal decay. Other signs include trunk rot near the base of the tree and sprouts or small branches coming from the trunk.
