"They showed up on time and completed the tiling same day. They did not leave me with a mess to clean up when they were through. I was concerned about the removal of the toilets, but they were pros. There were no water leaks. The toilets were working beautifully when placed back, and the seals were perfect."

"Great! They came out to quote and got started on part 1 of our project request the same day. They came back the next day for part 2 (the flooring installation) and were finished before 6pm. A project that would have taken my husband and I months to finish was completed in 2 days! Cannot say enough great things! Thank you George, Daniel and Lance!"

"We hired Greg to do our master bath remodel in 2018 . We were so impressed by his work that we hired him to do several other projects. Greg has installed new flooring, trim, and doors, and also a composite deck for us. Heâ s done a great job with everything! Highly recommend!"

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Tile installation can be expensive because it requires more time and labor to install than many other materials. For example, laminate flooring can click and lock into place, and carpet comes in large rolls that you can secure to the floor. On the other hand, tiles need to be cut, laid individually, grouted, and left to cure.

Yes, tile floor removal is a physically demanding project that takes between eight and 12 hours per 100 square feet. It also requires protective gear and closing the area off with construction-grade plastic sheeting to avoid dust and damage to other parts of your home.

Mortar and thinset both serve the same purpose—tile adhesion—but have different compositions and use-cases. Thinset is heatproof and presents a wide range of possibilities due to the added polymers. Mortar is typically used for bonding stones and brick. Thinset is rarely used outside, while mortar is rarely used inside.

Tile countertops can last up to 100 years when properly maintained. Ceramic and porcelain tiles are the most durable types and can last as long as natural stone countertops like granite, marble, and quartz. Tile countertops are much cheaper than natural stone countertops, making them an excellent option for a homeowner with a limited budget.

You can technically install tile over tile, but we don’t suggest it. Installing tile over any surface that isn’t a completely flat and prepared subfloor will result in a shoddy overall job, uneven flooring, tiles that don’t adhere, extra weight, gaps, cracks, and room for moisture and dirt to enter. For the best results, only install new tile on a flat, sanded surface like subflooring or concrete that is prepared for tile.

If you have asbestos tile and would rather tile over it than remove it, or if your existing tile is completely flat and bonded tightly to the floor, you may be able to tile over existing tile. But experts recommend thinking twice before you do.
