"Eli's does an outstanding job at reasonable rates. Our patio garden looks gorgeous, and it's so lovely to sit outside on summer evenings and enjoy what Eli's has done. Their customer service is excellent, too, and it's an all-around pleasure to work with them."

"Went great. We asked for some changes to patio shape and Dan did just as we asked. He used wall pavers that he removed from previous retaining walls to repair and add to a retaining wall behind the garage. The patio travertine is gorgeous and the granite edging was well done. His work was done well, quickly and neatly. Repairs were made to lawn from heavy equipment used and it came in beautifully. He gave us great instructions which we followed 😀. He included plans for an adjacent deck which we will be using in the spring. He and his crew worked really hard. Thanks, Dan!"

"My yard was having a 29 yo senior moment. So many things were wrong. We have yet to sit on our patio this summer due to the condition of our back yard and the front yard was awful. Josh came over he looked at my disaster of a yard and he made me feel great because he knew exactly what to do to help me. He also found out my 60 ft pine had some damage at the top causing all kinds of problems with all of my other trees and plants. Killing most everything in its path of wild growth. My yard is beautiful now. It looks like it did when we first moved in 29 yrs ago. Can't wait till it matures. We have ad people drive by our house and comment on how nice it looks as well as drive right by our house because they didn't recognize it. Thanks Josh and the rest of the team. P. S. They work hard."

"I can’t speak highly enough of Francisco and his crew at Tricolor. They were on time with the projected start date. Francisco and his whole crew were extremely professional. They picked up after themselves and left no trash around at all. They took their time and clearly take pride in their work. They didn’t rush through the job. Every brick was checked with a level. They also went above and beyond to make sure our sprinkler system was working properly. They found some pipes cracked and heads that need replaced. Also, rerouted a sprinkler line and head as it was covered by the company that did the concrete work. The landscape around our patio looks amazing. I would hire Tricolor for ANY future projects."

"I hired Cemex because I had used him in the past and he has done great work. I still got 3 bids because I wanted to make sure his price was still competitive, which it was. Project went very well. I was under a bit of a time crunch so that I could move into my house, and John was able to accommodate my deadline. They poured a large stamped patio first. John was patient with me in choosing the right patterns and colors and it came out great. The driveway is big and the drainage was a little complex, but John was able to get me a couple of options on how to slope the driveway, and I hard a hard time visualizing it, but i'm glad i listened to his recommendation. Once he poured it, and i saw the finished product, it made a lot of sense. Overall the job went well, they got it done quickly and on schedule. His crew has been together for years, and they all worked well together."

Patios questions, answered by experts

A professional can design and construct sunrooms or patio enclosures that meet structural standards, optimize environmental conditions, and integrate seamlessly with existing architecture. This ensures the project enhances home value and provides long-term enjoyment.

Yes, a sunroom will require a permit. You may just need a general construction permit for a screened-in porch or solarium. For a three-season room with electricity and a four-season room with electric, heating, and cooling, you’ll need additional permits for each of the utilities, as well as a roofing permit.

A sunroom may count toward your home's total square footage or living space if it meets certain conditions, which can vary by local regulations. Generally, for a sunroom to be included, it must be fully enclosed, properly insulated, and equipped with electrical access and a heating and cooling (HVAC) system, similar to a four-season room. It should also meet the same construction standards as the rest of the house. Three-season sunrooms that function more like enclosed porches typically do not count toward the total square footage and are considered exterior living space.

In almost all cases, you will need permits if you plan on building a sunroom over your patio, but regulations and requirements will depend on your municipality. Permits to enclose your patio will usually cost between $300 and $1,000. Since navigating local building codes and zoning requirements is challenging—and the consequences of not following them can be extremely expensive—we strongly recommend hiring a sunroom builder to complete the work and pull the permits for you.

A lanai is a covered patio with open walls, while a Florida room has sides made of mesh screens or windows, with or without partial low walls. In addition, lanais often use concrete or other patio flooring, while Florida rooms may have more indoor-style flooring like tile or wood. Both allow you to enjoy the outdoors without being in the direct sun, but a lanai doesn’t offer any barrier against insects or debris.
