Joseph's Landscape & Patio

I hired Joseph to repair the stairs and the edges of my existing brick patio, and then to extend the patio about 10 feet out. First the good. The patio extension came out pretty well he did a decent job matching the bricks given the age of my existing ones, and it looks pretty solid. Unfortunately there’s a big dip between the existing and new patio. Joseph said that was because of the concrete base under the existing but I feel like he could have tapered it better. Anyway that’s not my problem. I asked him to repair my steps (two steps leading to the house ). They were in bad shape , and falling apart. Joseph offered the option to tear down the steps and rebuild for an addition $1500 or he could repair them. I chose to repair. I’ve attached pictures of the finished product. This is after his first employee did an even worse job. I didn’t expect perfect but not happy with this. Joseph is a nice guy and he tries hard but I think he’s just not very good at this. The first day he came by himself and didn’t have any equipment. He used my shovel and wheelbarrow to start the dig work. Not a big deal but just didn’t set up for a great experience. There’s an edge section of the patio that is still broken away. When I asked why he didn’t repair he said it wasn’t part of the contract. disappointing because I specifically said I wanted to fix all the loose parts. Again, Joseph could have offered to repair and provide me an updated estimate but he just opted to not address it. His fee was reasonable, but my advice is to pay a little more and get an actual mason.

They did an ok job. The crew took a week vacation after starting the job. I would have scheduled the job later if I had known that. Overall, I would hire again.

Could have done a better job. I Did not get what I paid for. It looks like a rush job. I sent pictures of some of the things that were wrong I was told that they would be fixed and they never were. Nice people but mediocre work. I have spaces in my landscaping that could use more rocks in it, which I did myself with the overflow of rock I have left.

We had high hopes for our new patio, but the workmanship was below average at best. It looks like they used subpar pavers, as many of them have large chips missing or corners knocked off. Many pavers have staining. They dug a french drain along the patio but left the sliver of grass between the patio and drain there--it looked horrible. The french drain was not straight and was wider at one end. My husband had to dig out the grass strip and add more river rock to even it out. They sanded the patio and then left it uncovered when they knew it was supposed to rain that night, which it did. My husband even told them it was supposed to rain. Much of the sand was washed away and there are now huge gaps between many of the pavers. We asked Joe to come back out and fix the staining and fill the sand again which was done, but it still looks bad and many pavers are still missing sand. Last, the grading is not correct because the rain runs into the corner of our house on the edge of the patio. They put all debris in one huge dumpster and when the truck went to haul it away, the door opened (it was never latched) and it spilled on our brand new driveway. My 66 year old husband had to help the guy shovel it all back into the dumpster. I'm glad some customers thought they were good but I would never recommend them.

He did such a good job I sent him to my sons house. I like everything about their work. They are very professional, polite and engaging.

I cannot say enough good things about Joseph and his team! They were extremely professional, do excellent work, and did everything with a smile and in a timely fashion. Joseph is great at communicating every step of the way. He provided a thorough assessment and several options to suit our needs and budget! Would rehire in a second!
