Salesman was very knowledgeable and did not pressure. Didn't upsell features I didn't need. When the work took place, both installers were very courteous. House was kept clean. They updated me as the work went along, consulting me when needed. Very good work.
Description of Work
Repair walls and replace tile around bathtub / shower. Tub surround installed, along with new plumbing fixtures. Tub did not need to be replaced or have a new liner.

If you call them be ready for the most extreme hard sell ever. It gave me a headache. Sales rep will offer you a 10% discount if you sign the contract right then and there. Make sure you have other estimates before you call them so you have other estimates to compare to.

I honestly thought nothing could've been done but to completely tear out the tub and surrounding wall. I happened to contact Bath Fitter to see if there was any way to get around totally tearing it apart. Our salesman came out and assured us they could take care of the project. Everyone we dealt with from the beginning to the end were courteous, professional and did an amazing job. The tub and surround was done in one day and I could not believe my eyes when I walked into my bathroom. The change is more than I expected. The hardware is beautiful and I love it! There was no mess and our installer did a perfect job. The plumbing to the basement was taken care of and another plus to choosing Bath Fitter is the lifetime warranty on everything. We certainly made the right choice.
Description of Work
The bathtub was put in when the home was built in 1950. There was so much rust buildup in the drain area that it could never have been cleaned and there were also a few gouges in the bottom of the tub. The tub surround had some tiles that had fallen off from water damage also.

As others have mentioned - this isn't a review of their work but of the company. I asked for an appointment to receive a quote. Immediately they called to schedule the appointment and set up the time for the technician to do the quote. After over 10 minutes of answering the questions over and over again they transferred me to a "supervisor" to confirm my details. First, they determine that 5:30 on a Friday afternoon would be the best time to schedule the estimate. Then they ask me to ensure that my wife will be there as both people need to be home for the quote so everyone is on the same page (first hint of a high-pressure sales approach), then they asked when I needed to leave on Friday evening (hint 2) and I told them that I had a max of 45 minute to 1 hour and the supervisor tells me that due to the incredible care they go to to ensure they measure correctly, 1 hour isn't enough time (hint 3) so they need to either schedule for a longer time or ask that we make arrangements to be home longer. I told her that I wouldn't allow a technician to spend more than an hour in our home measuring (ie. hard selling). She told me that there was no sales pitch but that it takes that long to do the estimate. So I suggested that she figure out how to do it more quickly or I would go another route with my bath remodel. SO she started on in more high-pressure tactics and I simply told her that I would go somewhere else and hung up. Almost 15 minutes wasted on the phone just to schedule a quote. I'll go elsewhere as I HATE the high-pressure home improvement pitch. They know that if they don't close the sale with the husband and wife during the initial visit they most likely will not get the sale. Watch Tin Men - it's the Bath Fitter's approach caught on film. Advice to the Bath Fitter - it's 2016 - update your approach and provide service rather than high-pressure sales tactics.

We had a sales guy come out and take measurements and give us the whole pitch. The sales guy was nice, polite and on time. We ended up deciding not to move forward with the project because it was significantly more than what we thought we were getting into when we started thinking about this project. The sales guy told us one of the reasons he loves working for this company is because the price is the price and there is no negotiating so it makes his job easier. Funny, because after we told them we are not moving forward I had several more calls saying that they want to send a manager out to meet with us to give us a better, more affordable option. I thought the price was the price. I told them every time that we have moved on and made other plans for our shower. They were very pushy on the phone. Even when I thought they understood that I don't want another appointment they would call me back daily. The first sales guy was great, just pricing was the factor for us. After that, the professionalism was gone, the pushy sales tactics kicked in. I would have considered calling Bath Fitters again in the future when it fit my budget better, but now I don't think I would use them.

I am very pleased with the workmanship and I was amazed that it only took one worker. He is very well informed in his field; plumbing and installing.

Between a slightly racist comment and overbearing sales techniques, I can't recommend this company's North Olmsted office. We live in an older home (1920's) with an original cast iron tub that is peeling. We filled out a form online to obtain an estimate for a bathtub liner, and we were called within an hour to schedule an in-home estimate. We are seeking different options for our bathroom (including a full remodel or just re-glazing the tub), so we just wanted to obtain an estimate for a bathtub liner so we could appropriately weigh all of our options. We made it clear that we were not interested in a surround and that we were only interested in a bathtub liner. They were very professional, but that's where the positive experience ended. On the day before our scheduled an appointment, the call center called to confirm the appointment and to "make sure that the 2nd homeowner would be home." They named him by name, which was very odd because the name was never given to this company. I know it's public information on the county website and I understand why they do this, but it was a little weird. The man arrived on time to provide what we thought was a quick estimate for a bathtub liner. We told him that we were in the beginning stages of exploring all options for improving our bathroom. We were also told that they don't do bathtub liners without surrounds, which begged the question of why didn't the call center tell us this. His sales technique was to point out how all of the other options were bad options: a) a full bathroom remodel would cost $16k, b) other bathfitter-type companies offer a subpar service, and c) reglazing the tub would cost over $1k. While I can't vouch for other bathfitter-type companies' services, his estimates for other services were just plainly incorrect based on the size of the bathroom (small) and the estimates we had already obtained. It got progressively more uncomfortable as he tried to explain how Home Depot and Lowes subcontract out to the cheapest bidder. While we already knew this, it crossed a line when he said, "Getting good customer service at Home Depot is like getting customer service from Laquisha at 7/11." I was dumbfounded that this came out of his mouth. It got more uncomfortable when he looked through his book of prior customers, found a neighbor across the street, called them, put them on speaker phone (not telling them that we were listening) and asked them if they were happy with their bathfitter system. While I question the ethics of using this tactic, it was actually more uncomfortable when he pointed out after the call how cranky she sounded. He also proceeded to insult the quality of the windows that we had installed 8 years ago and the caulking job in the bathroom, and he couldn't fathom that someone would want to live in a house in Lakewood long-term. When it came time to get a written estimate, we were provided with a $6600 price tag. Keep in mind that we called to get an estimate for a bathtub liner. When he asked for our business (as expected for any salesperson), and we informed him that we weren't ready to make a decision, he got agitated. He demanded to understand what unanswered questions we had and why we weren't willing to commit. When I pointed out that we never make decisions the same day (and I gave him two examples involving granite countertops and refinishing hardwood floors), he questioned whether the issue was money. When we said "no," he pointed out that they had financing options. When we said that we don't finance anything (and to be honest, money wasn't really the issue), he talked down to us by saying, "there's bad credit, and there's good credit." When we proceeded to thank him again for giving us an estimate and that it was helpful information, he told us that we shouldn't have called them if we weren't ready to commit to a project. He quickly packed his bag, told us that he only gets 4% of his business from customers who call back, and left. He was at our house from 6:30 - 8:00pm. While they may have a very good product, we would never purchase anything from them based on their sales techniques.

You could buy a new house with what he charged. Our old shower is moldy and stuff, and we don't even use it. The doors are shut, and he wanted to put a new shower over that. I said no, that would fly with me. I said I wanted the old one removed and put a new one, and he said that is not what they do. The fact that they were going to put new stuff over old stuff. I didn't know that was their process, to put new stuff over old stuff. The price was outrageous. I am sure he was an expert in his field, it just wasn't for us. He knew what he was talking about, it just wasn't for us. He probably could tell that I wasn't going to call him back.

The first installation was not acceptable. We asked for a curved rod; It was installed so that it cut in on the front and back of the shower @ 6 inches. The interesting thing is that they asked us about positioning of everything else, but not that. May not seem like a lot, but was a noticeable difference and not much in the middle. Came back out, and the installer was NOTICEABLY not happy about it. He took off the bar, put another insert over the original one, and put the bar where it made more sense. Where the caulking was pristine and straight the first time, the second - not so much. The water pressure in the shower is also bad. When I asked about it, they said that, by law, they have to install a low flow system. NOT true (not law), and said it was the shower head - also untrue (we found out from a different plumber it's the Delta valve - where you turn the water on and off). They brought another shower head out, and we tested in our other shower - original water flow. Put it back in the bathroom with the insert - not good flow. we just found out that it's the Pretty sad when the shower water pressure on a cruise ship is better than in my shower at home. To their credit, Bath Fitter came out in between the original installation and the redo - and were very polite. Pros: - Easy to clean Cons: - Even though it's textured, floor is slippery. - Corner shelf - If you have more than one person that uses the bathroom, don't get the corner shelf - it's very shallow, and you're left with nowhere to put your washcloth or anything else. Buy a corner shower holder at Bed Bath and Beyond. - The valve in the tube where the water empties has an "X" crossbar - so cleaning out clogs is not very easy, and forget it if you need to have it snaked. You can probably spend the same amount of money and have a good contractor come in and put in a nice tile shower for you.

We talked to them about their product with making the shower much larger. I prepared the area by removing the back wall and roughing in the new wall. They had not done a unit with our unusuall dimensions previously. It was alearning experience for all of us. I enjoy the ease of cleaning the acrylic material, but I am still getting used to using vinegar for a solvent/cleaner. It has a fold up seat which some days is quite a relief, other days it is just something to clean. Soap has a way of turning red and against the white material looks worse that it is. The harware is Moen and is lifetime warranty but I'm unhappy with the shower head hose coming loose.

Don, the installer, was great. He was very professional and polite. He arrived on time and was very clean. Day 1 involved the removal of the tile in the doorway, the removal of the old shower head, installation of the new pipes with the water temperature regulator and the installation of the shower floor. Also, the anti-bacterial coating was added along with the support material for the seamless wall covering. Day 2 involved the installation of the wall coverings, shower head, and shower bar. The shower needed 24 hours to dry before use. Then 1 week before mild cleaning materials could be used. Also, my parents received a $100 referral check after the work was completed.

After receiving a $150 coupon from BJ's, we had a custom shower stall overlaid in the master bath. The shower had inlaid tile that had a lot of grout. Also, the walls had peeling paint due to moisture. Bath Fitter installed a new shower head, pipe system that regulates the water temperature, seamless shower walls, floor, shower bar, and corner shelf unit.

I was not happy with that experience. They are such a pushy company. They had a lot of good comments online and they were highly rated, but they were pushy. I encountered them at a home show and I got a call the very next day to setup an appointment. Someone came out and gave me an estimate. I thought it was high. I got two other calls from them and they said the manager was in the area and wanted to give me a better deal. I wondered why he did not give me this deal in the first place. It sounded like a scam to me. I found them very pushy. This was around February.

I ordered the Bathfitter shower and bathtub on June 1, 2012. The actual installation did not take place until September 11 and 12, 2012. Although their advertisements say it's done in one day, when I placed my order, the slaes representative said it would probably take two days. I just would like people to read the fine print which tells you it takes 6 to 8 weeks for installation, since the sales representative made it sound like it would be done a lot sooner. I personally feel it is very overpriced for what you get and it takes way too long to have it installed. I would not do it again.

I had one bathtub redone with bathfitter and one shower stall redone with bathfitter. New showerheads were installed and new hot/cold fixtures were also installed.

Bath Fitter gave me a quote. We are waiting for all the parts to come in. They have done the laser fitting. The thing that I read about them said that they were high pressured sales pitch. The guy that came out was not like that. As far as our experience so, that is a little bit different than what I had read. After the work is done, I will be putting a full report in.
