Small jobs welcome

"Charles and his coworkers pulled into our driveway today and offered us to have our driveway paved out of no where. Its crazy because we have been talking about getting it done. Charles explained everything to me and my fiance. So I decided to do it. Best decision by far. Our driveway looks amazing and they were only here a few hours. Thank you Charles and team members for helping us out! I highly recommend using them for any driveway work. You guys rock!!"

"Chris was excellent! I highly recommend. We had a problem with our front door, literally for years. It continued to get worse and worse until it became a real problem. Chris and I diagnosed the problem, and Chris fixed it beautifully. It is such a pleasure to have our door work as it did when it was installed. He was prompt and went above and beyond. I will definbitely utilize Chris in the future"

"I received three estimates for my driveway expansion. Elite Custom Concrete was the only company who physically came out and looked at the project. The owner and his entire crew were extremely friendly, thorough and professional. He was able to get the job done nearly two weeks earlier than anticipated. The driveway looks great. Highly recommended."

"I recently hired ARC Roofing and Paving to remove weeds and grass from the cracks in my driveway. I was impressed by how thorough they were; they didn't just clear the visible weeds but also made sure to fill the cracks properly afterward. Michael and Sammy were friendly and professional, making the whole process pretty easy for me. After the work was done, my driveway looked much cleaner and well-maintained. It’s nice to see the weeds gone, and I feel like the repairs will help extend the life of my driveway. Overall, I’d recommend ARC Roofing and Paving."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Think of the street as a way to capture all the elements on either side of the road, including the road—a street encompasses the homes or other buildings, the trees, and the road of a given area as defined by the beginning and end of the street on a map. A roadway, however, is the component of the street where cars travel.

Yes, using recycled asphalt millings is an eco-friendly alternative compared to concrete. Millings are reclaimed pieces of gravel that are recycled into aggregate that can be used on driveways, patios, walkways, basketball courts, tennis courts, and more.

If your driveway is cracked, you can repave it with a process called asphalt overlay. Overlay is more cost-effective than a full replacement but is better suited for minor cracks and issues. If you have major cracks or other problems like water pooling, asphalt overlay isn’t your best bet. Plus, paving over a cracked driveway only extends the lifetime by about 10 years, whereas replacing it would start the clock over completely to give you up to 30 years.

Asphalt and tarmac are not the same thing. Traditional tarmac, short for tarmacadam, uses tar as a binder to hold crushed stone together. Asphalt uses bitumen—a byproduct of crude oil—to bind aggregate. Though tarmac was once a go-to for roads, asphalt has become the modern standard. And these days, most surfaces referred to as “tarmac” are actually asphalt. So, while the names may overlap, the key distinction lies in the binder—tar for tarmac and bitumen for asphalt.

Asphalt driveways are affordable and able to withstand sub-zero temperatures. The asphalt surface makes it easy to plow snow, and it has excellent traction for slippery winter days. Another benefit: it absorbs heat from the sun and can then help to melt snow and ice more quickly than other surfaces.
