"Titan Siding and Roofing did an excellent job on my roof. Their customer service was great from start to finish. They answered all my questions and went the extra mile when I came back to them to ask about an extended transferrable warranty. The installation team worked like a well-oiled machine and the supervisor was there to make sure the work was done correctly."

"Just had our house completely re-sided by American WeatherTECHs (as well as getting a large new window installed). We had cedar siding that was getting taken over by birds so we decided to go with an insulated siding that should deter the birds. Anyway, we had a fantastic experience with Mynor Granados and his very professional crew. We were told it would take about two weeks (big job, our house has lots of bends and outcoves). They were done in 9 days in spite of some dicey weather. They were here before 9AM every day and worked hard until about 7 every evening (including Saturday, but not Sunday) with an hour lunch break. It was very hot and humid with showers/storms several days. They would break during the storm and resume as soon as it was over. Every single worker on the crew was polite, friendly and professional, taking their lead from Mynor who was an absolutely great guy. Having your house re-sided is a big, expensive job that everyone kind of dreads, but this crew from American WeatherTECHs made it surprisingly painless. And the workmanship is top notch - the finished product is beautiful and we couldn’t be happier. By the way, this job was in West Chester, Ohio."

"In this particular case, Lance Roofing offered the best price by far. The workers did a fine job.....very competent, hard working, and accommodating. Clean up afterward was very thorough. They finished the whole job in less than a day."

Siding questions, answered by experts

Regularly wash with mild detergent, inspect for rust, and repaint as needed to maintain its appearance.

The living space of a home doesn’t correlate directly with how many square feet of siding you’ll need, but on average, a 2,000-square-foot home will need 1,700 square feet of siding or 17 squares of siding. Your siding measurements will vary depending on the layout of your home, the number of stories, the size of your doors and windows, and even your roof style.

Concrete log siding is not the same as fiber cement siding. Fiber cement siding is made from a mixture of cement and cellulose fibers, while GFRC is made from cement, glass fibers, and polymers. The materials are similar in their durability, longevity, and curb appeal, and the main difference is that concrete log siding is available in more styles that resemble traditional log siding. Fiber cement is also less expensive, with materials costing around half what you’d pay for concrete log siding.

As stunning and natural as stone siding is, it's not for everyone. Some popular siding alternatives to stone siding include:

  • Aluminum siding

  • Brick veneer siding

  • Engineered wood siding

  • Fiber cement siding

  • Wood siding

  • Vinyl siding

If you want the look of natural stone siding without the high material and installation costs, vinyl siding may be one of the best alternatives. It’s lightweight, low-cost, and low maintenance but does have a lower life span than natural stone.

Vinyl is lightweight, easy to install, durable, and long-lasting, and as long as a professional installs it, it should remain waterproof for several decades to keep your home protected. It can hold out against extreme weather conditions, and it doesn’t make a nice home for any sort of insects. Plus, vinyl is affordable and comes in a variety of looks and colors. When it comes to board and batten siding, vinyl is one of the most affordable material options.
