"Harmond helped me over video link to test the components in my broken refrigerator. The testing confirmed that it was the compressor that had failed. I purchased a new refrigerator because I decided it was not worth the cost to replace the compressor."

Customers say: Quick response

"This guy is the best. He asked me a few questions over the telephone which I could not answer. Marty scheduled an appointment with me and arrived on time. My washer stopped working and he knew just what was wrong with it. The machine was disassembled and a new clutch and pump was installed. The replaced clutch was of better quality then the one was that was supplied with the machine. The washer was reassembled and has been working perfectly.

My icemaker produced a cube with black particles in it. Marty ordered a replacement icemaker for me. When the part arrived, he scheduled an appointment and completed the job.

I own a plumbing company and offer the very best of quality and customer service to my customers. As a consumer, I ask for the same from the contractors I hire. Marty exceeded my expectations, I would hire him again.

Percolation Tests questions, answered by experts

Most manufacturers stopped putting asbestos in linoleum before 1980 due to public concerns about its toxicity. However, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) didn’t ban asbestos-containing products until 1989, and a comprehensive ban was not announced until 2024. This means that homes built after 1989 may still have asbestos in their flooring.

Asbestos is commonly found in certain older homes, depending on the time period in which they were built. Asbestos use in home construction began in the 1920s and peaked after World War II before being limited by legislation in the ’70s, so a house constructed in 1880 is unlikely to contain asbestos, while one built in 1950 is much more likely to. Research a home’s history to determine the time period when it was built and any renovations made since.

No, an N95 mask will not protect against asbestos and many other hazardous materials, such as carbon monoxide, gas, chemical vapors, and other gases. You will need a respirator specifically designed to protect against asbestos. However, if you suspect asbestos is present in your home, hire an asbestos abatement professional immediately and avoid the area until they arrive for the inspection.

The microscopic asbestos fibers do not cause eye irritation, throat irritation, or lung irritation. If you are inhaling fibers, you will not know it. This lack of immediate symptoms is one of the reasons why asbestos is so dangerous. You cannot know for certain if you are inhaling fibers, which is why you must wear safety gear if you could have any chance of an exposure while working.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) banned the use of asbestos pipe insulation in certain applications in 1975. It released further bans in 1989 and 2019. While asbestos pipe insulation was common from the 1930s to 1970s, its use fell off after the 1970s due to public concern and the EPA's actions.
