"I left Tom a voice message, he returned the call the same day and came out the next day (a Sunday) to provide an estimate. He provided a set price for the bedroom repair and wallpapering, but charged an hourly rate for the plaster crack repair. He commenced work approximatetly ten days later. He and his crew were true professionals and were careful to cover all furniture, walls and floors. They cleaned up thorougly after each workday and at the end of the job. We are extremely satisfied with the quality of work."

Post removal repairs to underlying drywall were minor and were not a result of anything Tammy could have avoided in the removal process (original construction contractor did not properly primer coat the drywall before applying the wallpaper). I contacted Them to wallpaper a 54 inch by 54 inch by 8ft half bath. I was going to have everything in the little bath removed. I was also going to do the prep work; which included painting the little ceiling and removing the border. All he had to do was hang the wallpaper. I had everything he needed. The wallpaper is a simple drop match. In addition, there are really only three walls. The door takes up most of one of the walls. The job could have been completed in less than four hours. I wallpapered for 30years. I had him peg as being slick two minutes after he walked into my house. He spent to much time looking around in my house. I suspect that he was trying to figure out just how high he jack the price. The job was so simple that he could have emailed me the estimate the next day, but he did not. After two days I started emailing saying that I am waiting for the estimate, he would respond with oh its coming. However, he still had not mailed it to me. I kept emailing him, and he kept saying that its coming. Until the last time I emailed him, and he responded by saying that he mailed. I responded by saying that makes no sense, and I said why didn?t you just email me the quote instead of putting it in the mail. He then responded by saying he didn?t have my email address. Really!! My first contact with this company was via email, and ever subsequent contact was via email. Lastly, I replied my saying all you had to do was return the email; just like you have in the past. He knew he was up to no good. He was clearly tying to take advantage!!! The so called trades people on Angie?s List of some of shadiest and slickest people I think that I have ever encountered. The old corner gas stations ran themselves out of business with the same kind of behavior. It is lost, because I had intended to have a lot of interior work done this up coming year.

"I moved into my house 3 years ago. I went as long as I could with the original doors for my front entry way and side entry way into the house but once the door knobs were ready to fall off I knew I had no choice but to finally replace them. I had a couple of companies come out to give me estimates and I couldn't believe how much they were going to charge. That is when I looked on Angie's List and saw some very nice comments for Mike's Home Improvement. I called and was able to get Mike to come out with in a week to give me am estimate. As this is my first time owning a house, I was pretty clueless on the process of replacing doors. Mike seemed very knowledgable and was very patient making sure I understood the process and the best kind of doors to get for my house. The price I was quoted was incredibly lower than quotes from other companies. I was initially going to get estimates from a couple of other places but decided based on the other companies I talked to previously, this was the way to go. I was planning on only purchasing entry and storm doors but since Mike was giving me an estimate on that, I had him also give me estimates on all of the windows in my house. Since I live in a colonial there are a lot of windows that need to be replaced. Unlike other companies, Mike will not push you to spend more than you can afford. He said I could do window at a time if that's what works best within my budget. I decided to replace my front picture window along with the entry and storm doors for both the front and side of my house. As soon as the doors and windows came in (which took about a month for them to get in which is pretty much the norm) I was able to get them to come out to install right away. The guys that came to install were very professional. They stick to the job at hand and don't waste a lot of time. The only thing that I didn't realize was what a mess it would be to take out my original wood doors. If I were you I would make sure anything you can is moved out of the room you are getting doors replaced in or just make sure they cover everything. Overall excellent process, quality and price...I believe it cost me around $5500 for the 2 entry doors/2 side doors/front picture window...don't quote me exactly but I believe it was around that amount. Since I've now replaced 3 more windows at $350 a piece from Mike and just ordered 2 more. I also just found out that Mike does other work. I need wallpaper removed, painting and some minor remodeling on the inside of my house. He has a guy named Walter does that type of work. Walter came out to my house just yesterday and said he would have a quote ready for me in just a few days. He was a very nice guy that knows what he's doing. Like Mike he was very patient with me with giving ideas and helping with color schemes. He seemed very knowledgable. I'll keep you posted on what comes from that in another review."
