Called in September he said that should be done by the end of the month, September 23 still no word from him so I just canceled and got my deposit back."

"8/2020 My experience: I gene Dave a deposit for an upcoming bathroom remodel on8-6-2020. Work to start on 8-26-2020. He promised to not only start that day, materials were to be picked up at Home Depot. Waited all day for delivery, he was a no show. I finally just let him know that I want my deposit back. I am unhappy because he keeps changing his story. I don’t trust him anymore and I don’t want anyone else to be a victim of a contractor that does not stand by his word or commitments. After 10/2020 and the horrible workmanship of Dave and his crew, even more problems arose with my bathroom. The tile that was cracked under the toilet caused a water leak from the toilet itself. My grout lines get covered in mold bc of the waster leaking under the toilet. God knows what it will cost to fix now. He is dishonest, his work is horrible and he does not stand behind it. "I had to move quickly, was going through a divorce and needed work done at the property to which I was moving. The most urgent item was erecting a fence for my dogs. Jeff met me at the property and we discussed a number of items I wanted done. He spoke about the big projects he's done for large corporations and assured me he could get the work done prior to my deadline. Jeff told me he needed a deposit to get started. Because I didn't want any delays, I gave him a $1,200 deposit without anything in writing. He missed every promised deadline and each time I contacted him, he turned the situation around saying he would get the work done if I stopped bothering him. I continued to contact him because nothing was getting done and he hadn't done anything to move the work forward. He was rude and extremely unprofessional. I kept on him and he finally provided me with a day he'd be out to begin erecting the fence. I couldn't be present the day he was scheduled to be out and when arrived at the property, Jeff was not there, but there were holes throughout my lawn. I called him and was told that a fence could not be erected on my property - no one would be able to install fencing because of tree roots. After he told me he couldn't proceed with the fencing, I requested that my deposit be returned. He first said he would refund the deposit. When a week passed and I received nothing from him, I contacted him again and he told me he did the work and was owed the money. Because he spent time making holes all over my property, he believed he should be paid. By the way, he left the holes throughout my lawn. Holes that created a liability for me. I continued to contact him and on one call, he indicated that he visited his lawyer and would be sending me the invoice for the money due to him, and indicated that I would receive a check for the remaining portion of the deposit. I never received any of my deposit back. Jeff is dishonest and anything but honorable. Beware."
