The water heater install was a disaster. He did buy the heater we selected but after that it was down hill. He assured us that he would have it installed by someone qualified to enforce the warranty. He Lied. He didn't get the right parts to install it. They did remove the old water heater OK. The plumber didn't have the right tools or parts because he thought John was going to have everything there. So he was frustrated starting. Of course they had taken out the old one so we didn't have any hot water and he said he didn't want to leave us without hot water, but he should have. We needed to have a hole drilled through the foundation to vent the water heater. He didn't inform us or make any attempt to contain the mess he was about to make. My grandson who was visiting that weekend, came running out of the house saying, "Grandma, the whole basement is filled with red smoke" . Everything (and its a full basement that is full of storage and stuff) was covered with the red brick dust and all along the wall chunks of brick and stone. He went to our small town local hardware store and got parts that got us hot water but didn't meet the specs and didn't install it using the rings that would have made the hole look better. There's a sheet of paper on the outside that tells you exactly what should be done with the install. NOT DONE. He left it messy with old pipes capped off and the new lines coming off from pipes a foot or more away from the wall. We have not hired someone to clean it up, but are planning to do so this spring. (Again having to pay twice for the same thing) He did install the sun-setter but didn't finish it, so its starting to come apart. He did put up the rails with the new supports he said we needed that I bought, but they put the sleeves on upside down and drilled new holes in them so that now there are ugly holes showing. We talked about everything we wanted before we started and still every time we questioned what he was doing or not doing he acted surprised. We talked about already having some bad experiences and he seemed so sincere about doing a good job and doing it right, but again we feel taken. We both feel like we should have fired him but neither knew how we would ever get it finished if we did. We definitely should not have paid him as much as we did. We only held back $200 on his promise that he would get the water heater installed properly. Why we believed him at that point I don't know, but also just wanted him gone. He's an excellent salesman but NOT a good contractor. What did I know about finding an electrician? I took a family member's advice and joined Angies list. I read reviews and called a couple. I set my mind on Green Electrical. I called and was treated so respectfully. A time was set that worked. Mike put me at ease right off the bat. He was patient while we got our little dogs in another room. He went above and beyond to make sure the electric was working properly and that my girls would be safe. He took time to answer all my questions. There was no hesitation in his answers, he knows what he's doing. We are planning to install a 220 line for my dryer next month. Yes, he took the time to do an estimate and his rates are very reasonable. This was a good choice for my family. FAQs for putting green installation projects in Mcconnelsville, OH
Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.
When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
The average cost of playground equipment installation is around $500, and most homeowners pay between $330 and $700, excluding the cost of the playground equipment itself. Your total project cost will depend on site preparation requirements, playset size, design complexity, number of accessories, and the swing set materials. Don’t forget to account for the cost of playground surfacing, which can cost between $15 to $160 per cubic yard or $225 per cubic yard for poured rubber.
The cost to install a basketball hoop can range from $200 to $5,000. This price heavily depends on the type of basketball hoop you choose, as some require equipment and some do not.
For example, you can most likely assemble a portable basketball hoop yourself, with a cost of $150 to $500. However, if you're looking for something more permanent, a roof-mounted hoop requires specialized tools and roof anchors, costing a total of $2,000 to $5,000.
Rubber mulch is widely considered the best material to place under a playset. This material option provides more cushioning than traditional wood mulch for added protection, remains cooler than sand and most other materials in direct sunlight, and it’s low maintenance. Rubber mulch is slightly more expensive than other common options at $120 per cubic yard on average, whereas pine bark mulch is $30 per cubic yard. But when it comes to your children’s safety, the investment is worthwhile. Consult your playground equipment installation company about material recommendations before starting this project.
