Yikes!!! Dishonesty working on multiple levels. Talk a great game but WATCH THEIR ACTIONS.....Why Angie's list would allow these people on their site is beyond me. Nightmare!!!! Incompetent!!! Talk about overselling, under delivering, and way over charging. YIKES!!! They priced the job out at $2500 and bragged they could do the job more cheaply by using pex. Three weeks later they were done. They presented a bill for over 10k. And said they were doing me a favor by reducing the cost to $7500. We paid them but ask them to service the system they installed. They agreed and put it in writing. They now refuse to service their incompetent installation. . The boiler was working however they had no idea about how to hook up the electric. That didn't stop them from charging for their ignorance. They connected the thermostats to the wrong rooms and claimed, after the fact, that it was wired that way to begin with. However we confirmed with the prior owners that such was not the case. We called six times and waited 25 days for a service call We finally wrote them a letter. They simply said they weren't going to fix it. Thank goodness for Harrison Construction. They notice the incompetent work right away and offer to fix it.

These individuals will NEVER be allowed in my home again.  We are two single women that live there and I feel that they completely took advantage of us.  The furnace they installed is too large for my home but I took them at their word.  We cannot use our family room anymore because the furnace sounds like an airplane is in the room with us.

My experience began with Lowes.  I contact Lowes to give me a quote - the reason I did it this way was to utilize special financing options that we had through Lowes.  Lowes brought this company in and gave us the quote.  I needed to utilize the financing.  We were urged to act immediately because they felt that our furnace was completely unsafe and that we could not run our furnace until it was replaced.  The man who gave us the quote and oversaw the work was extremely "familiar".  I felt uncomfortable with him.  I would come home and he would just be sitting in my driveway waiting for us to get home.  He was never inappropriate, I don't want it to seem that I'm insinuating that.  I did feel, however, that he tried to make me feel like he was a father-figure so that I would "trust" him.  During the process, they blew my A-coil to my air conditioner.  With the AC as old as the furnace, I am now forced to purchase a new AC unit.  They promised they would give us a good deal on a new AC unit because they incapacitated mine.  In the end, they tried to do the same thing with the AC that they did with furnace - sell us an oversized unit for the size of my house.

I have had other companies in to look at the work that was performed and they are shocked at the poor workmanship - some go so far as to say its some of the worst they have seen.

As a side note - because we provided our cell numbers to the company to as contact, we get frequent texts from this salesman wanting to sell us an air conditioner.    And, since the time of our experience, Lowes has ended their affiliation with Mountaineer Mechanical.

They found the broken area and replaced it quickly.  When water came on, one of the toilets leaked badly.  They fixed the problem quickly and then they were done!  Both workers were very friendly, personable and professional.  Also, the office staff was very friendly and helpful in setting up our appointment and keeping us informed.  A great company to work with!

Quick response. Plumber was at my house with in 30 min of calling. The plumber was very friendly and explained what he was doing and why. The work was completed in under an hour and he made sure to go beyond the clog to clean out the entire line. I will call them the next time I need plumbing work done.

We called in a competitor who worked on the system all day and still could not fix it.  Called in Mountaineer Mechanical who sent the manager, Eddie Place.  We have a geothermal system.  He tore it completely down and had it fixed in 4 1/2 hours.  They are certified in Trane repair.  Very pleased.

Showed up later in the day, but once he arrived, the plumber did great. Checked thoroughly and gave an honest assessment.  Will definitely call them back for any future plumbing needs!

Home water system--pump died.  Had a plumber (not Mountaineer Mechanical) out to replace it.  They did the job wrong.  Mountaineer came out and not only fixed the mess the other plumber made, but cleaned out the silted spring box for us.  It cost a lot, but they take payments and were very professional and did the job RIGHT.  It's hard to find plumbers that work on home water systems and those that do are not always very good.  Mountaineer Mechanical did a great job and in the future I will call them first!
Response from Mountaineer Mechanical Co

"Mountaineer Mechanical works very hard to keep a good reputation and to fufill the customers expectations. It is very rewarding to get good feedback from our customers and to know that they will take the time to let us know what they think. We appreciate all the referrals and comments. Thanks"

My experience with them was good, except that they were supposed to be here at 9:30 in the Moring and they weren’t, so I called to see where they were.  The woman I spoke with said that she would call them and make they got me on the list, but I never heard back from them.  They did arrive later in the day, but without any announcement or warning and luckily I was here.  Once they were here they did an excellent job and they were very careful to have coverings on their shoes.  They were quick and efficient and they explained everything that was going on to me.  Their work was excellent.  I spent about $160 on that service.  They came the next day of me calling them.
Response from Mountaineer Mechanical Co

"Thank you for letting us know what you thought of our company. I am sorry that we let you down on the timing. Mountaineer Mechanical strives to improve every aspect of what we do and has made adjustments to our office procedure to fix this problem. We deal with many emergencies and try our best to accommodate everyone's schedule and to keep appointments, but from time to time we fall short. We appreciate your business and hope to get your rating even higher next time."
