These individuals will NEVER be allowed in my home again. We are two single women that live there and I feel that they completely took advantage of us. The furnace they installed is too large for my home but I took them at their word. We cannot use our family room anymore because the furnace sounds like an airplane is in the room with us.
My experience began with Lowes. I contact Lowes to give me a quote - the reason I did it this way was to utilize special financing options that we had through Lowes. Lowes brought this company in and gave us the quote. I needed to utilize the financing. We were urged to act immediately because they felt that our furnace was completely unsafe and that we could not run our furnace until it was replaced. The man who gave us the quote and oversaw the work was extremely "familiar". I felt uncomfortable with him. I would come home and he would just be sitting in my driveway waiting for us to get home. He was never inappropriate, I don't want it to seem that I'm insinuating that. I did feel, however, that he tried to make me feel like he was a father-figure so that I would "trust" him. During the process, they blew my A-coil to my air conditioner. With the AC as old as the furnace, I am now forced to purchase a new AC unit. They promised they would give us a good deal on a new AC unit because they incapacitated mine. In the end, they tried to do the same thing with the AC that they did with furnace - sell us an oversized unit for the size of my house.
I have had other companies in to look at the work that was performed and they are shocked at the poor workmanship - some go so far as to say its some of the worst they have seen.
As a side note - because we provided our cell numbers to the company to as contact, we get frequent texts from this salesman wanting to sell us an air conditioner. And, since the time of our experience, Lowes has ended their affiliation with Mountaineer Mechanical.
"Mountaineer Mechanical works very hard to keep a good reputation and to fufill the customers expectations. It is very rewarding to get good feedback from our customers and to know that they will take the time to let us know what they think. We appreciate all the referrals and comments. Thanks"
"Thank you for letting us know what you thought of our company. I am sorry that we let you down on the timing. Mountaineer Mechanical strives to improve every aspect of what we do and has made adjustments to our office procedure to fix this problem. We deal with many emergencies and try our best to accommodate everyone's schedule and to keep appointments, but from time to time we fall short. We appreciate your business and hope to get your rating even higher next time."
