"Steve and his team did a wonderful job on our fence! They hauled out our old one and thoroughly installed a new one for us, taking all the right steps throughout. It looks wonderful, and I no longer have to worry about our dog escaping. They also installed 2 gates that work very well. I found this company to be very affordable and thoughtful, well worth the price!! I haven't been able to get the best pictures, due to rain, but will attach what I can."

Small jobs welcome

"We had Szoke Lawn & Landscape do work for us here in Athens. He and a co-worker put up a beautiful privacy fence. Also, they replaced our mailbox and two of the gates on our backyard chain-linked fence. It was a wonderful job!! They finished in just a couple trips. They are very reasonable on the price they charged. If you need a fence, landscaping and other outdoor projects, Szoke is the one to go to. You won't regret it. You will love the completed job. Carson Szoke fully explained the job he was going to do and he is a very honest and kind young man!"

"Lance and his company was most professional and courteous before we even committed to an install. Once we scheduled an install, it was well executed and looked and worked great. Training was done by a superb trainer that our dog took to immediately. You can tell they care about their profession as well as the animal. A year later, damage was done by a third party. Lance himself showed up promptly on a holiday weekend to fix the fence and save our weekend. I can't recommend Lance's Hidden Fencing enough. A+ job."

"Wow! So happy with my deck and fence from LMG. Even my neighbors have complimented me on it. Justin my project manager, did a great job of keeping the work crews to a short timeline, so the project was done quickly, and made sure everything was done to my liking. I will definitely use LMG, for any future projects."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Barbed wire fences provide cost-effective security, livestock containment, and property protection.

The best wood for a farm fence is pressure-treated wood that will stand up to various weather conditions, animal contact, and moisture. Farm fences need to resist rot and damage, so choose a species such as cedar or redwood. The natural oils in these woods give them decay resistance, which also makes them ideal for other fence types, such as a wooden snow fence.

When choosing wood for a fence, consider your budget and geographic region. The most popular and common types of wood are cedar, redwood, and pressure-treated pine. Cedar is a top choice due to its natural durability, resistance to rot and insects, and budget-friendly price. Redwood is another durable, tried-and-true option, though it is typically more expensive. Pressure-treated wood, such as pine, is also a widely used and popular alternative. These materials are readily available at most hardware stores, which makes future repairs and replacements easier. Their accessibility and long-lasting performance make them excellent choices for most fence installation projects.

Who pays for a new fence between neighbors depends on its location relative to the property line. If you build the fence entirely on your property, you are solely responsible for the costs of installation, maintenance, and repair. If the fence is built directly on the property line, both neighbors are typically responsible for the costs. In this case, it is essential to consult with your neighbor beforehand to agree on a plan for payment. While you should always inform your neighbor of your plans in advance, you generally cannot force them to contribute financially unless there are specific local laws, such as in California, where both parties might be responsible for costs unless a different agreement exists. It's a good idea to get a property line survey to know the exact boundaries before building.

Yes, fence posts should be set in concrete to provide the proper support for the fence. If you notice your fence posts leaning, you’ll need to learn how to brace a fence post to fix the problem and prevent further damage from occurring. By bracing a fence post properly, you’ll provide stability and sturdiness to your fence for years to come.
