Will was very nice to start off with. He came willingly and gave us an estimate, as well as picked up our $2,600 cash deposit. Once the deposit was paid our level of responsiveness changed and we were always "next on the list." Will never did build our deck because he under bid the job and decided it wasn't worth his while. Where we are at today (one year later) - a police report is being filed today. Any theft over $1,000 is a felony in the State of Ohio and we just want our deposit back. Warning to anyone who hires this company. Will (the owner) was quick to reply to a request to build a deck, he came out gave an estimate and returned quickly to get a deposit to get started. I haven't seen him since. I have a record of all the communication between him and I and it's too much to write in here but all I can say is that in 9 months all I have is holes that his crew dug. I have asked for my money back numerous times, and now he won't reply to my texts. I was always next on the list (for 9 months). Don't want this to happen to others and at this point I just want to get my deposit back. Obviously would NOT hire again. He gets one star because I had to click something. Update as of 8/11/2025 This is an update to my last review. My deposit is still NOT returned. Will has deleted his response to my first review where he stated that he was going to refund my deposit. He complained about the drive to my residence in his response which is strange since he had no problem coming out to get my money. He made a reference to when his crew was out to dig holes that I came out barking orders showing his crew magazine pictures saying that this deck better look like these pictures. Question for Will, is this the same pictures I showed you that I got off of Lowes deck builder site where I came up with a model on how I wanted the deck to look? Or the same pictures that were hung on my back door for 9 months so your crew had a reference on what the deck should look like? Especially since your crew had no idea at that time what the deck was to look like? He also stated how he had to pay for all the permits, it's strange that when we agreed on him building the deck that he said since it wasn't going to be attached to the house that permits weren't needed. I just want the deposit back, which again he said on here (now deleted) that he would do. Funny how we shook hands and said that neither of us wanted to be that guy who doesn't keep his word. A police report was filed, and we will continue to try and retrieve our deposit.

They gave me an accurate estimate, arrived on time, did the job as agreed. They had to come back an touch a place up, which they did cheerfully and promptly. I will use them for my future needs. Many thanks. ❤️

I rated thus company right after project was completed. We had brand new front door and storm door installed. Since then the owner Will come back out to fix again as doors weren't correct. It has only been two months and doors aren't working proper. Same thing as when installed. Three times now we've gotten locked out of front door. I reached out and Will said would be here last week. Monday, didn't show, reached out that night after no word and nothing. Read text but didn't respond. Tuesday I called Will and spoke with him and said would be out later that day. No show. No word since. It is now one week

S&S Builders were very professional, courteous and hardworking. They went out of their way to make sure they had all the right materials and were flexible on last minute changes I wanted. They did a great job and I’m very pleased with my new beautiful cedar deck!

Will was very responsive. He was able to understand what I wanted in a patio and he paid attention to details. Invoicing was easy as well. Time frame to complete was great. We will use for future projects!

They are great. The work was done well and in a very timely manner. I'm looking forward to the next project to be completed by this company.

We were very happy with the replacement of our old deck by S&S Builders. They even ran into some rain but kept right on working. The team was awesome and the owner, Will, completed everything he promised. I will be having this Company back again for future work.
